CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER Will Reportedly Introduce Adamantium In A VERY Unexpected Way

It may be Christmas, but that doesn't mean the rumour mill stops churning! Now, a very interesting claim has found its way online about how Adamantium factors into Captain America: New World Order...

MCU fans have been understandably frustrated by the apparent lack of connectivity during Phase 4, but one big unresolved plot thread looks set to be key to Captain America: New World Order in the upcoming fifth Phase of storytelling.

At the end of Eternals, Sersi used her powers to transform the emerging Celestial, Tiamut, into marble, leaving a massive alien God sticking out of the Indian Ocean. That's yet to be addressed by Marvel Studios, with hopes that Namor might bring it up in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever quickly dashed last month.

A couple of days ago, a rumour started doing the rounds that Thunderbolts will see the team head to the Celestial's resting place, with the island now known as Genosha. Those of you familiar with the X-Men comic books will remember that as a location inhabited exclusively by mutants that Magneto ruled over.

Since then, it's been claimed that this is, in fact, "Tiamut Island," with the spotlight actually put on the Celestial in Captain America: New World Order. As expected, it seems the world's governments will realise that they can make use of Tiamut's remains, hence why this is supposedly where Adamantium will be introduced.

Yes, the indestructible metal that coats Wolverine's claws is going to originate from Tiamut, with various countries - including the U.S. - going to war in an effort to lay claim to a resource that's even more valuable than the Vibranium Wakanda has deprived them of. Unsurprisingly, Harrison Ford's President Ross will be among those looking to take control of the island.

We'd bet on Tiamut Island also factoring into Thunderbolts given how close to the next Captain America movie that arrives in theaters.

As for the X-Men, it seems Marvel Studios will take a slow-burn approach to introducing the mutants, though Phase 5 could start setting the stage for them to one day call Tiamut Island/Genosha/Krakoa(?) home.

Captain America: New World Order is set to be released on May 3, 2024, while Thunderbolts follows on July 26, 2024.

@Drewwright816 - leaks seem to show dermott mulrooney as president in secret invasion… people have been gueasing that he will probably lose his presidency during the show, and ross will be the one who replaces / succeeds him.

@ReverseFlasher - I thought I read somewhere Dermott Mulrooney's president would be revealed to be a Skrull in disguise. Perhaps Ross was his vice-president.

I know it's fiction but how many non-white presidents have we even had?

Don't worry though, all the "heroes" on the team are also white (well, one is half white)...but still...it's great to see someone asking for more diversity in film roles.

I agree that we should seek more diverse casting when we can! 👍

So this means Wolverine will get his metal claws in modern day or possibly in a future date instead of years ago with his memories erased?
Rosraf

@tb86 - They just won't introduce Wolverine for another 25 years.

@tb86 - to be fair, the weapon X program was somewhat modern day. He had the bone claws the majority of his past, that past gets erased. So we could literally watch Wolverines origins play out in real time in the MCU. As the first team of the XMEN are being formed by Charles, Logan is Weapon X and escapes, then maybe in the second or third Xmen movie that brings in Rogue and Gambit and Jubilee, they also have Logan join.

Could work.

@tb86 - If they erase Logan's memories and identity, I can imagine this mutant taking on a new identity.

How much Captain America lore is actually going to be in this 'Captain America' movie?
Comicmoviejunki

@ForceofWakanda - an abundance

@ForceofWakanda - Adamantium was created as an attempt to replicate Cap’s shield, so maybe there’s a way to fit that in.

@ForceofWakanda - kind of hard to have Captain America lore in a Captain America movie when you don't even have Captain America in it.

Steve Rogers is Captain America. Anyone else is just a pretender.

Adamantium should already exists in some form; so should Logan. If it’s a modern creation you lose a lot of history, primarily with Logan and that’s important stuff. Grain of salt with this already.

That being said, adamantium being man made through an accidental process could line up into this new origin. Experimentation with Tianut’s armor and combination with other alloys could lead to the creation of adamantium. It was an accidental creation in the comics and could be here. Also, it would finally give the giant Celestial sticking out of the Earth’s atmosphere some meaning.

You could easily just remove the adamantium angle, or not concretely be so up front about it, and just have the world governments going into this with the motivation to mine this stuff, not yet fully knowing what they’ll do with it but hoping it can somehow one up Vibranium in the resources department.
