From Iron Man to Captain America?

We’ve known for awhile that a Captain America project was likely to emerge out of the now prolific Marvel Studios. Now, we’re treated to what may be the first bit of real news to leak out. And who do we have to thank? A combination of a chatty mother and CHUD.

The boys and gals over at CHUD received a prompt regarding a TV appearance. I won’t resupply the email, as I like my grammar, but the gist is this; Gena Rowlands was on a morning show, when she said that her son was currently thinking of doing Captain America.

Gena Rowlands, most notably (or at least, recently) known for her role in the now ever popular The Notebook, was under the direction of her son, Nick Cassavetes.

Cassavetes was also originally attached to the Iron Man movie, before Jon Favreau took it over. According to Devin Faraci over at CHUD, the news was that he and Marvel got along pretty well. So it really isn’t surprising that they would give one of their favorites a chance to bring one of the last Marvel characters to the big screens.

And, if you think for a moment, Marvel has definitely planned this out well. Unlike DC who are scrambling all over the place, simply trying to make money, Marvel may have done their fans a service. Check out my other article here for the full low down (coming soon).
