Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan Marvel Cinematic Universe MCU phase III
Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan abstractly talk about what they'd like Captain America 3 to explore in Phase 3 on the This Week In Marvel podcast.

Kevin Feige tells ScreenCrush that SpaceKnight ROM will probably never appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to licensing issues. We may seem some other SpaceKnights but not ROM specifically.

"I think there are legal issues with Rom. I think Rom is owned by a toy company or something. I think we have Spaceknights, but we don’t have Rom. I think they did some standalone Spaceknights comics at some point. ROM, I believe, was a licensed deal. Like G.I. Joe and Transformers back in the day."

Over at TV Line, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. creative team of Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen talk about the recent Agent Ward (Brett Dalton) revelations and what that means for the show moving forward. Particularly, on whether Ward is actually a "triple-agent" and is going to be revealed that he's been using the Night-Night gun and is still one of the good guys.

"May asked [Coulson], ‘What are we going to do now?’ and he says, ‘Survive”– and survival is a big part of it...Even worse for all and known to none, is the fact that Agent Ward is playing for the other side. There will be some tension to play, having this snake in the grass. You’ll learn a lot more [about Ward's] true agenda. You’ll get a glimpse of a side of Ward we didn’t know was there."

Agent Ward is a triple agent

ROM was an EXCELLENT comic in the 80's that had a great storyline, when a lot of the main superheros comics were boring, ROM was there

FYI I did some digging. ROM is owned by Parker Brothers, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hasbro, the same company that owns G.I. Joe, Transformers, and a lot of board games. Hasbro is heavily active in the film business, having their own studio. They have traditionally worked with Paramount (Transformers, G.I. Joe), but did Battleship with Universal and have projects in the works with several other studios (Monopoly, Candyland, Ouija, etc.). So while they may not be doing anything with ROM at the moment, they possibly could. And I'm sure they would be open to doing it with Disney/Marvel if the deal made sense. Then again, I have to assume everyone is out of ideas by the time they get around to a ROM movie...

Correction: Hasbro has their own production company., not their own studio. (Duh.)

A quote from a respected site:

"The series lasted for 75 issues from December 1979 to February 1986 and Rom's regular encounters with mainstream heroes and villains establishing him as part of Marvel continuity"

@MrSloth- I'm guessing Any Age of Ultron filming that is going on at the moment would be taking place somewhere indoors with lots of green screen. I don't think they are shooting anything outside atm because we would be getting spy set pics... Unless they are in a very remote area but I doubt it. Filming is most likley occurring indoors right now. As a matter of fact I don't think any filming has been taking place recently because it's the easter weekend (Good Friday)

Keep Ward a villain makes him way more interesting. I hated the guy till he turned. I always was hoping he and Skye would be killed off. Not sure what direction this show is gonna go but as long as it includes villains from the comics Im right there with it. It's been a thousand times better the last several episodes. I think next year they need to start the season after Christmas and go straight through no weeks off like what 24 did.

dinkinflicka - 4/20/2014, 9:02 AM
Skyes hot but they made her terribly annoying she is this shows Thea and Laurel from Arrow. Simmons verges on so annoying I hope she dies as well sometimes. The Whedons always write shows where female characters swoon over men a little too much. It's unreleastic. They got Blackout upcoming and bring back Blizzard and Graviton I'll be as happy as I could be.
