Joe Quesada replied to an email and told me something about "Captain America" that you guys may want to know.

I, recently, emailed Joe Quesada and requested a press release about Chris Evans and his "role" as Steve Rogers. Here is my email:

"Mr. Quesada, I know that you work with Kevin Feige and the guys over at
Marvel Studios on the films. You're bound to know whether or not Chris Evans
was REALLY cast as Steve Rogers. If you, actually, know: will you please do
a press release, or convince Kevin Feige to do one. Myself, and many more
fans((probably, even, Ed Brubaker)) are going crazy about it. Please, just
give people a "yes" or "no", if you know. I understand if you can't, but if
there is a possible way that you can give us some assurance, then please do.

See ya' in the funny books, Mr. Quesada

Joe replied to me, a couple days later, with this:

"Lance:

We can't be responsible for rumors that people put out on the net and I'm sorry if you and others are feeling frustrated by that, but that's not Marvel's doing. So, as soon as we know who will be playing Cap, we'll let everyone else know, promise.

Now, some of you may be thinking that he wouldn't know anyway, but Joe has been working very closely with Kevin Feige on the recent Marvel Studios films. I have emailed Kevin Feige before about other things, but he never replied. Joe has been the direct source to count on in situations like these...at least for me.

also, they won't announce it until the final pieces of the deal are finished and signed.

Yeah, they won't say anything until this is 100% DONE DEAL. However, it is getting irritating waiting on confirmation.

nice news. now as for the clash of the titans i hope to see aries and some of the gods that did not make it into the original movie,or in the sequels.now back to cap casting i myself am ready to find out who is playing the cap.

@corndog. thats so true, just because we know its true, Marvel thinks its better to hold on and wait to confirm even tho when a bunch of sources that are great, they still keep their lips shut. Much like the pspgo and sony. This is the worse kept secret

Man..if this IS true, then we will never hear the end of this from talkingfetus. I'm surprised he hasn't already gone after Poni with this bit of news. You should e-mail Joe Q back and ask him WHY the Captain America movie isn't on Marvels movie list. They have Howard the Duck! Somethings going on, because they are waaaaaaay too secretive with this one. Just hope that Disney isn't pullin' strings.

lol. would actually be funny if in the end he turns out to be right. doubt it. I would love to see jensen Ackles though, but can only dream. From the sounds of what Joe Quesada says above, there may be hope of a miracle. But I think its still gonna be Evans.

with all the sh*t thats going around on the net...i'm just gonna wait till marvel does a press conference to confirm who will be playing steve rogers/captain america...who ever it is..just remember guys or girls in marvel we trust they kno wat they are doing wit thier movies...so whoever is cap i still will be @ the movies the day the film is realeased..just like the rest of us.....

and btw i kno this is completely off topic but i just read the first draft of the green lantern script...and that movie has the potential to be epic....im hoping marvel and DC do good @ the box office cause at the end of the day im a cbm fan...no matter wat adaption of wat ever comic it is imma be there to see it...

@jjmeylar- good stuff about joe quesada, i had to look up who he was and saw he is editor in chief at marvel. that was real cool of him to even respond to u. what do u think it means? sounds like he's saying evans is still just a rumor. he is the biggest name attached to the film to confirm or debunk so far

@Anil: Not a problem, man. No disrespect taken. I understand what you mean, though I think that a small part of you believes me. I'm glad that you're glad that I posted this.

@LazySmurk: Joe's never been shy when it comes to replying to fan emails. Heck, I asked him through an email if the rumors were true about "X-Factor" being canceled when there was no solit for November of last year((at least I think it was November)). He replied and told me that it wasn't true. He's a real fans-man.

@Everyone: Never be afraid to contact the guys in the industry. A lot of them are great with fans. Chris Yost and Kevin Grevioux are on my Facebook and I've chatted with them multiple times. Both of them are great guys and love to know what you think of their work. ((Chris in particular, when it comes to what you think of their work)). I'm not saying that you should contact them left and right, but try to befriend them. You may be surprised how much they love chatting with fans about average things in life and their work.

@Leee: And Favrea is only Foggy Nelson and not Happy Hogan. Perhaps Rebecca Romijn is only Mystque and not Joan. How about Ben Foster? Is he only Spacker Dave and not Angel? Ryan Reynolds only Hannibal King and not Wade Wilson? I could go on and on, man. If Chris gets cast, it's not as much of a big deal as you((and so many other people)) are making it out to be. He wouldn't be the first to play 2 different characters in Marvel films. I WANT Chris to be Steve. Did you see him in "Street Kings"? He's great for the part, man.

I really hope Evans isn't Cap. It's bad enough they let Affleck be DD and (I can barely say it) Clooney put on the cowl. Nobody more famous than the character. Cheapens the role. Cap's too big a deal. Send in somebody not that well known so I can immerse myself in the character instead of getting blinded by the actors superstardom. Otherwise, they might as well just let Joel Schumaker direct.

Why tell us who Captain America is? It will make the Hype for the movie bigger if they don't say who they have playing him.
