Yes it is ridiculous. But I love that.
Gwenpool was my favourite of the Gwen-month covers. I'm glad tey have the cajones to actually give her a shot at stardom. Cause this ones got star written all over her. Deadpool has consistently been one of the most popular characters in all of comics for over a decade now. And Spider-Gwen has been a huge success, this year. Gwenpool could be bigger than both of them put together. In fact, she is both of them put together! But no, just the design is awesome and the concept of Gwen as a female Deadpool really kind of works for me. I think this could be awesome. Really. Why not?

Y'know what'd e really cool? If Emma Stone were to cameo as Gwenpool, in Deadpool. Technically, Gwenpool is a Deadpool character. As long as they never actually call her Gwen Stacy, they would be fine.

As one who has grown up with this beautiful and tragic character in the 60s my utter contempt and disbelief is off the scale. So- it's a race to the bottom now, is it, Marvel? It's now obvious that Marvel will do ANYTHING for a buck, including stabbing one of their most beloved characters in the back. Or maybe this company is a plaything for Ike Pearlman. Wouldn't surprise me. It certainly feels like it's being run by an idiot.
Think this is bad? Wait until next month. Just when you think it just CAN'T get any worse it always does. Count on it.

rocketeuropa@ I get what you're saying, Gwen Stacy was a beautiful and tragic character. But that was 616 Gwen Stacy. This is a different version of the character, entirely. They're just having fun with it. Like Spider-Ham, y'know. Or Howard The Duck, Master of Quack Fu. I'm quite sure you didn't stop making yours Marvel, then. Is Gwenpool gonna be the last straw for you?
Besides, as I recall, a very large and vocal majority of the fans were outraged at the very thing that made Gwen so beautifully tragic in the first place. Did you only like the character when they killed her? Is that it? The only good Gwen is a dead Gwen? Because that's Gwennist. Try to be progressive, won't you? This is the Age of Diversity. Every character should now be Gwen. And one day they will be.

Two predictions:

Soon, Dead Pool is going to be like Captain Universe. But instead of a sentient part of the universe, Dead Pool will be shown to be inhabited by a sentient force for chaos.

This will be the Half Decade of Gwen.
