Below are a selection of excerpts from the live feed over at Newsarama, but to read the report in its entirety, be sure to click on the link below to head on over to the site. For those of you who, like myself, were expecting any big revelations at the Hero Complex Film Festival about the relaunch or even movie news will be disappointed, but there are a few intersting tidbits about the new status quo of the DC Universe.

-"This really is the ultimate book," Lee says of Justice League.

-Johns on membership: "Our first arc is the origin of the team. It takes place in the past, and the next arc will take place in the present."

-Johns said that when Green Lantern first meets Batman, he's going to ask "what are your powers?" The initial relationship between these characters will be explored.

-Johns said the three words he uses to describe what they're doing is "Heart, humor and heroics."

-Lee said they're "re-energizing" and "re-imagining" much of their characters.

-Lee says there's never been an "awesome origin" for the Justice League, calling it a "prime example" of where they can "add something to the lore."

-Lee says they've got a video message from Grant Morrison.

-Morrison says they want to "recreate" Superman for the 21st century, and "do something that's a little bit new."

-Morrison says they will "change some of the basics" and reintroduce familiar characters in some unfamiliar ways.

-Lee said they want to remind people that comics are the source material for the box office blockbuster comic book movies.

It looks like the first arc will be set in the past as a "refresh" while introducing whatever has been changed. I can see a lot of these books doing this for the first arc, more heroes like Hawkman and Aquaman, who haven't really been DC's best sellers, rather than blockbusters like Green Lantern and Batman, who's origins don't need any editing anyway. Not to say that Hawkman and Aquaman's do...

I am ABSOLUTELY gonna pick up this book either way, it sounds really good. Marvel style (or it sounds like it is...) storytelling with DC heroes? It sounds too awesome. Great cast of heroes too. THE Justice League.

Okay sounds really interesting. But I don't think I could read a Superman related comic and he's not wearing the classic style suit.

This story sounds really cool though. I like the part of Green Lantern asking Batman what his powers are. I'm curious to see his reaction!

I still can't believe they rebooted Action Comics when they were so close to reaching #1000. It's a shame.

Isn't DC still fighting in court with Superman's creators? Shouldn't they have waited for that to be all done before rebooting Superman?

Bout time this happened. Allen Scott was just an early experiment anyway. If he is gone its for the best, and if he isn’t he needs a major revamp.

I like what I see, I like the collar on Superman's suit, this should be interesting, the conversation between Batman & Green Lantern sounds very interesting can't wait :)

Geoff "Can't come up with ideas so I just re-re-re-rewrite origin stories" Johns.

Maybe DC really has no life left in it?

Am I the only one that noticed that Hal is wearing his ring on the left hand? Why "revamp" or whatever to that small of a degree? Seems useless to me..

Okay, so if DC just makes all of these changes on their own it takes the power away from the Seagel and Shuster families. Sounds like a big corporate board meeting took place and they said, [frick] the fans, [frick] tradition, [frick] our american mythology, this is about the profit margin.

well i say [frick] you, DC.

Just learn how to tell a [frick]ing story.....your [frick]ing with my childhood. Assholes.

If DC or Marvel or any comic book company really want to adjust to modern times and get a new audience, they're better off making 5 minute motion comics and offering them on iTunes for $2 a pop. If people are willing to download songs for a dollar, I'm sure a 5 minute visual distraction would be worth $2.

I personally love Iron Man Extremis, Astonishing X-Men, Spider-Woman, and Black Panther. I wouldn't mind following comics in that manner from now on.

@WittySupreme how do you say suck it Namor, when Nu- Aquaman seemingly going to copy a whole lot more than before than Namor?

I hope Marvel will have Peter David take on Namor.

Nice to hear that its not a total reboot but rather a retelling of the JLA orgins. They might be doing this to prepare for their cinematic universe. Tie up all loose ends and start DC for a new generation of heroes. People are getting the word reboot and relaunch scrwed up. If this was a reboot, then how would Daminan Wayne exist or the events of Batman inc. Now I must admit that wiping the JSA is a slap in the face to us fans. But Im more than positive they will be written in somewhere down the line. Because if Mr. Terrific and Hawkman exist then Im pretty sure that the rest of the JSA would be introduced in this new era. But maybe in a different way, after all orgins have been altered due to the ongoing series Flashpoint. Im givng this a chance and not going to bad mouth this or say [frick] DC. Hell people hated the premise of Xmen First Class, but look at that movie now. Most definetly one of the best comicbook movies ever.

Because Bryan Singer didn't do enough damage to Superman...now DC has to completely finish him off.

I will give some of these titles a try. JL sounds interesting but I fear for superman. I hate grant morrison's style, so this does not bode well for the man of steel.

totally agree with the digital age thing,i think with time the actual buying of a comic is getting old school though personally i prefer to have the actual comic in my hand :)

but Geoff Johns is a good writer and i just love Jim lee art (batman hush) so im really looking forward to this JLA issue :)hopefully it'll be a cool origin story, and good to here they are coming back to the present after the origin story.

not a fan of Grant Morrison usually when he changes things he screws them up big time like he did with batman but thankfully he is doing superman a character im not interested at all in comics.

So, after years of hardship and selling my comic book collection to help support my family, my whore of a wife leaves me while on a deployment with the military and losing my job after coming home, I always dreamed of getting a decent job and collecting comics again. Apparently, I can't do that anymore. Marvel sucks (thanks very much to Disney) and DC is going down the toilet. I have always been a diehard DC fan, but not anymore. Wow. Thanks for destroying another aspect of my life. Now... where's my bottle of Jack?

This is straight garbage. They are killing off the heroes we know and love and making new versions basically. After all of the backlash against Wonder Woman in a pants suit, they are revamping her with the pants suit. The Superman costume is a joke. Superboy looks like a cyborg. Supergirl's costume sucks. No Powergirl?

Most people don’t START reading comics in their 20’s or 30’s they start in their teens.

DC just isn’t getting enough new teen readers that turn into long term fans.

If they don’t recruit the next generation then readership will shrink or at best stagnate.
