Doomsday Clock is shaping up to be the biggest comic book event of all-time as Superman, Lex Luthor, and the Justice League all come face to face with characters from the world of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' Watchmen. In the second featurette for the series, writer and DC Films President Geoff Johns weighs in on how the story comes to be and reveals more about what we should expect from the story.

He continues to tease the game-changing story and what it's going to mean for the DC Universe as he looks at some of the panels which have been revealed and drops some hints about what they mean.

More details can be found below and we'll obviously bring you more on this tale as we have it. Apparently, more will be revealed during a New York Comic-Con panel on Friday night so that will be good. Are you excited to see these worlds collide? Let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

I haven't quite been heavily following Rebirth a lot... reading some comics here and there. Think I'll be lost starting this series?

DC Rebirth has been excellent thus far, for me personally, and this looks set to be the grand culmination of it all. Can't wait.
Proper epic storytelling.

"Doomsday Clock is shaping up to be the biggest comic book event of all-time" Really?

Sure can't tell Wilding's DC bias, can you?

Even for a DC zombie, I think that's a Huge overstatement. I remember Crisis on Infinite Earths.. That was DC's biggest event of all time. Or even the Death of Superman.. I remember all the lines at the comic stores.

@knomad - He has a DC bias? The guy intentionally shots on the DCEU and spins every news story about it to be negative

This is arguably going to be the best comic book event in decades. It's well known that these stories always serve to say something about us as people; to say something TO us. Some of the best, and my favorite, comic stories in any medium always carry a very meaningful and thoughtful statement about the times. About people IN those times.
This though... this story, this whole Rebirth, is a statement about COMICS. And that means the world to me. It's showing us that they can be more than just defined by the thought process of a forgone era. We don't need to deconstruct these characters and these stories anymore. We need them to be who they are.
Stories like Watchmen and TDKR were brilliant allegories for the slightly cynical mindset of people of that era. Comics have carried that sort of cynicism ever since, the effects of which have been polarizing with the fan base.
But now they're standing up and making a huge statement about those stories and the effect they've had. It's brilliant to me. They're standing up and reminding everyone, reminding themselves that they can be better. They can inspire us in that classic way again, not just level with us and identify with us.
This is one of the reasons why I love Zacks movies so far. Because despite their dreary outline and supposed harsh tone, the stories and the characters are fighting to go against that grain. Zack's movies are darker, yes; they tell a much more challenging story for these characters than we're used to seeing. But it's how they come out of them at the end that strikes a chord with me. I find this Superman and Batman and WW more inspiring BECAUSE of their very real struggles. Because they face such a cynical and harsh world, much like our own. But we all need to be better now. Especially now. And I believe JL will further this notion and be a "Rebirth" all its own. The night is darkest just before the dawn and all that.

"best comic book event in decades". Wow. You guys are a little bit overly excited for this, uh?

I have been hearing the same thing about every DC and Marvel event for years. So I'm going to take it with a pinch of salt.

I'm thinking that Ozymandius is the one in control, using Manhattan's power to play god. I'm anxiously awaiting the scene when Deathstroke meets Manhattan and realizes he's been worshiping a false god. I'm over his silly born again christian schtick.
