It's widely believed that Dr. Manhattan created the DC Universe, but why he stole a decade's worth of history from the heroes (leading to the likes of Wally West being erased) is unclear. However, just like that plot thread was touched on in Flash: Rebirth #1, so too will Titans: Rebith #1 delve into what's next. For proof of that, look no further than the fact the Watchmen character is on the cover below!

However, the most exciting thing about this preview is seeing Wally - in his younger Kid-Flash body, but sporting a new costume - reunite with Nightwing, a fellow Teen Titan from a now forgotten past...

I like the art Brett Booth, i'm just not sure i like how he draws Wally's hair.

I don't know how I feel about the whole Dr. Manhattan twist. On one hand, it could be executed perfectly and end up as a great bit of storytelling. On the other hand though, they could execute it terribly and create yet another rebooted universe that is hot garbage.

@OldManLogan88 - Personally, I'm okay with them bringing in the Watchmen characters, though I'm not on board with the idea of him creating the DC Universe. I do hope they don't make him into a complete villain, though, as that would be a waste in my opinion.

@RexBlazer1 - The whole "creating the universe" thing does seem a little heavy-handed. And I do agree, making him a complete villain would waste some of the storytelling potential.

@AMrSundayGirl58 - I know he wasn't in the original Watchmen comics, but I was saying that I hope they don't make him a full-on villain in Rebirth.

@OldManLogan88 - Glad you agree, as a lot of people seem to be jumping on the "Dr. Manhattan is the new Big Bad" and "He created the DC Universe" bandwagons, and I think that it's too soon to tell. Here's hoping they don't waste his story potential in the future.

@RexBlazer1 - DC seems to be trying to fix some of their past storytelling mistakes (The New 52) so I'm just hoping they don't make Dr. Manhattan the new Big Bad. That would be a large step backwards.

@OldManLogan88 - On that, we agree. Personally, if I was to make a story about Dr. Manhattan in the DCU after Watchmen, I would've had it so that he came to the DCU through a multiversal barrier, and then had him explore the DCU to see what it had to offer.

@RexBlazer1 - I'd have him interact with various characters in the DCU and see what comes of it. Philosophical debates, etc.

@OldManLogan88 - Sounds about right. Kind of makes me wonder what would get him involved in a conflict, though. Perhaps things like these:
1. A feeling of attachment towards something or someone.
2. A future-seeing where he sees himself fighting.
3. Someone attacking him and he felt they were enough of a nuisance to warrant retaliating.
4. Someone giving him a righteous enough speech or something.
5. Or some combination of all of the above.

@RexBlazer1 - I feel that if a conflict were to arise, it would be because Manhattan feels extremely threatened by someone/something. Other than that, he can just shrug off basically everything else. I feel like Superman could be a potential threat.

I just love that they're bringing back the concept of legacy to DC. The New 52 just felt impersonal.

say what you will about the new 52, but I'm glad they retconed Robin's original costume out of existence.

I mean not only does it look stupid, its kinda creepy that batman encouraged his apprentices to wear that while fighting crime.
