Civil War Saga? Are Marvel's Plans BIGGER Than We Thought?

Civil War Saga? Are Marvel's Plans BIGGER Than We Thought?

Have we overlooked a HUGE clue to Marvel Studio's plans in one of the "Sony Hack" emails? Does Captain America: Civil War contain the HUGE storyline in one movie? Or does it just the beginning of the storyline? How will the Netflix shows be effected? Make the jump to see the evidence I have uncovered!

By now, unless you live under a rock, you know of the "Sony Hack" emails and the possibility of Spider-man joining the MCU. But this is not what I'd like to talk about today. I think one of the emails gives us much bigger information on the MCU than we've ever known. Let me explain.
While I'm not going to post the actual photo of the email from the "Sony Hack" I will post the content of one of the emails I'm going to be discussing and my theory of what it means for the MCU. Sorry for the grammar below because I'm copying directly from the email it's self I have no control over the bad grammar.

cap 3 is may 2016

the s film will won't continue the plot from cap but it will exist in a world where that story has happened. tony recruited sm. gave him the suit. he has met black widow and cap ect....he is now back at home with aunt may in queens and back in high school....it will not necessarily  be a story from the civil war saga but exist int he universe were superheros are now divided into two groups

marvels number for their movies is always 1.2 so that is the right number to trigger additional films

avengers 3 and 4 or part one and two are going to be released may 2018 and 2019. their ask is that he be in both of those movies. we need to guarantee  that a second stand alone spiderman movie happens in 2019 at least so its not too
long in between stand alone sm movies but, and because that is the biggest benefit to us....we canrespond the way you suggest but that is not what they are asking for...however not having a spiderman standalone movie until after both avengers years is not good for us?

What does this mean? I'd like to concentrate on this phrase "civil war saga". Now, saga usually means more than one film. So instead of having Captain America: Civil War be the end of Civil War, I think it will be the begining.

Here is how I think the movies will go down.

Avengers: Age of Ultron: After all the destruction Ultron causes, it makes Tony wake up again (much like in the first Iron Man) realizing that the Avengers and all other "superheroes" need to be responsible to someone. Thus the government asks him to support "The Superhero Registration Act". Tony accepts.

Ant-man: Someone would ask Hank Pym to help with the Superhero Registration Act thus pitting Hank Pym and Scott Lang at odds as Scott would start to enjoy being a "Superhero".

Captain America: Civil War: The Superhero Registration Act is now law. Tony asks Steve to be a part of the team but Steve refuses, believing the act will be misused and it will infringe on personal liberty. The war is on.

Doctor Strange: Civil War won't effect this much if any.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2: No effect.

Thor: Ragnarok: No effect

Black Panther: I think this will have a big effect in the Civil War event and possibly conclude it. It would have Black Panther trying to find which side to take only to realize there is more at stake.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1: Tony and Steve have both disbanded from the Avengers a new leader rises and that's Black Panther. He makes a new team of Avengers to prepare as Thanos heads to Earth for the Infinity Stones. Thanos defeats them and gets the Infinity Stones.

Captain Marvel: As Carol becomes a new player in the Avengers she encourages Tony and Steve to work together once again and take the fight to Thanos.

Inhumans: No effect.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 2: Tony and Steve put their differences finally aside and take the fight to Thanos thus ending the "Civil War Saga".

I think Marvel is deciding with Captain America: Civil War, that the "solo movies" aren't really just solo adventures. They can continue an over arcing story in the "solo movies". This way they'll explain the gripes that some had, "Why doesn't this hero help that hero in his adventure."

That's just the movies though. I think the "Civil War Saga" will be felt though out the Netflix shows. Wouldn't be too suprised if some of the characters from the films popped up in these shows either. I think that Marvel's Netflix series will be much more involved with the universe than we think and tell smaller but longer "movies" than the big screen flicks.

The Defenders may partly be about the heroes not wanting to work with the Government. Plus I think they will announce other shows soon. Who knows we may get a "Civil War" show! Doubtful but one can hope.

What do you think? Would you like this to be Marvel's plan? Or would you like something different. To those who have read the Civil War comic, do you think it can be contained in one movie? Or would you rather it spread out though multiple films/shows? Tell us in the comments below!

There's also a movie date 4 months after Cap that is open. There was a movie that was canceled. Personally I think they are sneaking in an Iron Man movie. And the Netflix and AoS will be important for CW.

Sure it would be nice but MCU doesn't need Spider-Man. It is the honest truth. If they can find a way to work him in that's organic then fine but no one wants him thrown in there for the sake of being there. People keep forgetting that Civil War in the films will be about hero's reluctance to work for the Government not about secret identities because there are none. The only ones who had secret identities were actually Natasha and Clint but she put all of SHIELDS files out there so yea.

I think Thor: Ragnarok will play a role in Civil War. I don't think it's a coincidence that Civil War is coinciding with Ragnarok when the character Ragnarok was introduced in the Civil War comic. I think the "Ragnarok" title has a double meaning, as it obviously refers to the Norse Apocalypse and I think the character will also play a part in it.

I agree that Civil War will probably stretch out through the entirety of Phase 3. I disagree that the Inhumans movie won't play a part in Civil War. I actually think that the Inhumanity will contribute to people pushing for the Superhero Registration Act and I doubt Agents of SHIELD would've introduced the Inhumans this early if they won't be used until 2018.

I also believe that Inhumans, SHIELD, Captain Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy are all connected via their storyline with the Kree, though it probably won't be a completely direct connection as Guardians of the Galaxy is somewhat separate (at least according to James Gunn). Guardians did work set up the cosmic part of the Marvel Universe that Ms. Marvel, the Inhumans and the Kree are a part of. I wouldn't be surprised if Nova himself is introduced sometime in Phase 3 or 4, though it won't happen in Guardians 2 (again, according to James Gunn, who also made it seem like Guardians isn't a part of Infinity War).

I loved the Civil War arc, and am excited to see some interpretation of it on film.

However I always felt the Super Human Registration Act was asking for trouble. Not just because of difference of opinion, but all that information put together is just asking to get sony'd.

I always believed the true Civil War in the comics should of been about the Mutant Registration Act. I always believed that would of caused a lot of problems, who would the Avengers side with, the government or mutants. Not all would agree, much like the Super Human Registration Act did, and would force non mutant heroes to decide where they stand when it comes to the Homo Superior race.

Great article by the way, that seems to be the general theory going around. I am sure their is going to be twist along the way that we, Comic Book Legion, have yet to ponder.

@GliderMan I hope Joss directs and writes Captain Marvel and The Inhumans. He would be perfect for both. I also love his approach and execution of Banner and Hulk, Incredible Hulk 2: not based off of Planet Hulk though.

Ultron uses Loki's Scepter to take control of Hulk, to use the Hulk to help him either break into Wakanda or distract the Avengers while Ultron breaks into Wakanda.

Was watching the bonus features on the GotG Blu-Ray, the behind the scenes stuff for Age of Ultron. It looks like Hulk vs Hulk Buster takes place in South Africa.

I think its safe to assume that Civil War will only begin in Cap 3 and will continue on until Infinity War, when they will all put their differences aside to defeat Thanos.

This will restore hope to the world that Superheroes are needed, and that the SHEA never should have happened.

@PAF I agree. Wasn't talking about Spider-man actually, I couldn't careless about him being involved with Civil War. I was just taking some info that Sony was talking about that Marvel had a Civil War Saga planned. I'm just saying this might be what it means.

@darkknight2149 Those are some great ideas I didn't think of. But I sincerely hope that the Thor idea is not true. I want at least one Thor film completely not Earth.

@GliderMan Nice ideas as always man. I was just doing a brief outline of the films and how they may connect to the Civil War Saga.

@dethpillow Exactly man. Me too, me too.

there are some good ideas here. I agree that CW is gonna play thru the future, I cant really make up and theories as to how, cuz im so excited to see it play out. It would be awesome if they used comic events as the plot for movies but played them out differently and actually better.

Ive seen some of you mention Dark Reign, barring Spidermans rights come back, who do you think takes the Norman Osborn role?

@dethpillow I see wat youre saying. I think its gonna play out over more than just AoU, CW, and Panther. I think its gonna just have less impact depending on the movie. This is gonna reshape the MCU so thats why I figure the consequences are gonna be felt longer than just those 3 films. Cant wait to see how this plays out tho.

This is some great work. If your theory is correct there could be bigger plans ahead for the Marvel Universe. I have a genuine feeling that Marvel does have big plans that will exceed Phase 4 and will continue on even after the events of Infinity Gauntlet. I mean if you think about it Marvel has not even scratched the surface when it comes to adapting story archs from the comics and we have not been introduced to every character from the Marvel universe.

I am especially looking forward to the set ups for Captain America Civil War. It's a film that i always believe can happen even though people said Civil War would be impossible to adapt to the big screen.

Idk about the movies, but the Netflix shows could play a role in Civil War. Recent comments about possibly using Bullseye in the future seem to indicate a possible future for the Daredevil Netflix series beyond Defenders. Introducing the Netflix characters now means it's possible for them to have small roles in Cap: Civil War and have the aftermath of that story play out in the second seasons. They could even do the Initiative on Netflix.

@GliderMan The Hulk vs Hulk Buster is about something you stated, I have a theory on what it's about. A few weeks a ago Ruffalo mentioned that Banner becoming Hulk is becoming easier but Hulk reverting back to Banner is becoming more difficult. Maybe the fight is about Hulk refusing to revert back to Banner, actually verbally saying no not just growling and grunting. Maybe this is where we see Hulk become more intelligent and truly become a different entity than Banner.
