Here is a compilation of images from the Marvel Fest 2009 Costume Contest held on October 28th in New York City's Union Square. Marvel Editor and Chief Joe Quesada presided over the festivities.
































Many entered, but the winner was Captain America (Bucky)




I was very disappointed I couldn't make it up to the contest, but after seeing some of these costumes I know I would have had a hard time making a stir. All these fans should be very proud of their hard work!

What a crock. They should mostly be ashamed. I saw like 4 worth looking at. Spider sense was the best, besides Bucky Cap because he definitely should have won, Luke Cage was a shrimp but good....old school Bucky was really good. Myeh. Looks fun.

Either Spidey sense, or pirate Deadpool. Those were my favorites.

Some werent great but you can tell that pretty much everyone put a great deal of effort into them so kudos for that alone!!!

My favourite has got be Bucky Captain America - it looks awesome! Peter Parker/Spider-Man is brilliant as is Bishop!

Spidey Sense, Pirate Deadpool, Bucky Cap, and Spidey in an FF uniform were all either just good costumes or inspired ideas. Looks like they were having a blast no matter what.

@Poni: Great costume man! Don't worry, you'll have other opportunities to show it off. (Although I don't where you'll find weaker competition that this one.)

some really cool costumes, I liked the spidey sense Peter Parker the best, it's a really good idea. But Multi if you were there obviously you would have won ;) I want your cap costume so bad its unbeilevable its sooo cool LOL

I still think Bucky/Cap should have won, and if Poni had been there it would have been a tie between those two. Spidey sense is a great idea, but if it's a costume contest, give it to the person with best traditional costume, not the best idea.

@multi: dude that costume rocks, everytime i see a picture of it i get jealous... makes me wish i was more creative and less lazy

Here's my top three of every costume i saw here:

1- Bucky Cap (Amazing Shield!!!)
2- Multi Ultimate WW2 Cap (Dude, you're just awesome)
3- Bishop (he's better than Spidey Sense just cause the guy looks exactly like Bishop LOL)

Teabag- Carefull which hand you use, the writing could get smudged LOL :P

Multi- Actually, no lie or exageration, your sheild is the best WW2 Sheild i've ever seen. EVER!!! No one has made a better one than yours (i especially enjoy the fact that yours doesn't have the top point, for some reason it actually looks better like that) and no way in hell could you ever buy a better looking WW2 Sheild than yours! What you did is just freakin' amazing!!!

Oh and your wife's Black Widow outfit is totally KICKIN' IT!!!
