Avengers Assemble For Marvel's Siege:

Just in time to start capitalizing on the cinematic build-up to Marvel Studios' Avengers movies, Marvel Comics are getting the band back together, uniting Iron Man, Thor and Captain America for the first time since 2003 for something called Siege.

Written by Avengers head writer Brian Michael Bendis and drawn by Thor and House of M artist Olivier Coipel, the Siege event (launching with December's Siege: The Cabal special issue) brings the stars of Marvel Studios' next three movies face-to-face for the first time in six years.

(In the meantime, two of them have "died" and been brought back to life, and Iron Man has become the head of the US intelligence community before being forced to induce a loss of intellect in order to save the world from someone misusing the files stored in his head. Or something),

The series also brings the Dark Reign status quo to an end, closing a storyline that's been running since 2006's Civil War series. But that's not all, according to Bendis:

What people may not know is that what happens at the end of SIEGE is as big a change to the Avengers franchise as when we Disassembled them and started the New Avengers. A decisive change for the Avengers franchise coming out of it will be completely different then what went into it. And that is something I'm very, very excited about.

It's going to be pretty lame if Spider-Man doesn't play a major part in taking down Norman. That would be like the Joker taking over the world and Batman nowhere in sight at his defeat.

LEE: Jesus, you're getting as bad as luffycapri!!!

I cannot wait for this!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spider-Man should most definitely be the one to take Norman down but I have a feeling that its going to be Cap, Iron Man and Thor who'll do it as they're the ones being advertised most. Its a pity because a lot has been lost already with Norman forgetting Spidey's identity so if Spider-Man doesnt even have a small part in taking Osborn down it'll be really bad. I just wish that Mark Millar was writing this - Bendis can be a little hit and miss sometimes!

They need to have Norman in his Goblin suit vs. Spiderman. Thats the only logical way to take Norman down, if not its pretty much kicking all of us diehards in the ballsack.

i want to see hulk brought in to fight ares! the isolated him from the last 2 story arcs, and that red hulk sucks! move on already! Also, wolverine leaves to join young avengers, kills bullseye!

ah yes.....The Trinity of the avengers are coming back together! Iron Man still has to properly apologize to Thor for cloning him in the Civil War. Those issues are still not resolved. Also, Steve and Tony have issue still from Civil War. I just hope this Siege story line doesn't suck. Make Mine Marvel!

spider-man vs. green goblin is inevitable to eventually happen.

its like bat-man vs the joker. the fight will always be there no matter what happens.

norman osborne has become something MUCH more than just a spidey villain. he's now a MAJOR presence. i don't think its a big deal if spidey isn't the one to take him out. it should be cap. it would bring more meaning to his death and return, like they couldn't do it without him.

@ cincyboy

hulk would embarrass ares. if sentry or thor can't beat hulk, then neither can ares. also, how would wolverine joining the young avengers make any sense whatsoever??

@ dannyrand

in a straight fight, i don't think the punisher could handle the hood. the hood has the dark arts on his side. (i love the hood by the way)

thor vs. sentry-"The Sentry can supposedly out-power and beat everyone- but he didn't beat the Hulk when the chips were down"

you're exactly right! but thats why i think sentry is such a good character.
he IS more powerful than everyone else, but he's got real world problems that bring him down to other people's level. he's marvel's better version of superman.

sentry vs thor - if sentry let loose against thor like he did against hulk, thor wouldn't stand a chance. remember, the hulk that sentry fought in WWH was the most powerful we've EVER seen hulk. and thor has NEVER been able to beat hulk one on one, all the times they've fought, not once. and sentry might not've beaten the hulk, but it was definately a tie, they fought to a stalemate. neither lost, nor won. it would just depend on which sentry showed up for the fight.

and i would like to see hercules fight ares too! thats a tough one to call, it could go either way

@ anil

frankencastle is the worst idea ever, lol. thats what happens when you put the punisher in the MU world. he needs to stick to the max series. he's too hokey and lighthearted and lame in the MU.

i think bucky will keep being cap, and steve will become the new head of shield. i could go for that. too many people like buck-cap.

I personally think Steve should be at rest. I mean having a "Bullet that sneds you through time" is the most bull shit I have EVER heard in my life. I mean MARVEL is copying off DC and Batman, there both through time subconciouncsly? Just my opinion.
