"If the end of the world is one way, and the unknown is the other, a wise man checks out the unknown first."

The third chapter in Rivers of London: The Fey and the Furious, the urban fantasy comic book series from Titan Comics is appropriately and hilariously titled Too Fey, Too Furious.

The series is penned by Ben Aaronovitch (Doctor Who) and Andrew Cartmel (The Vinyl Detective) and exists in an urban fantasy setting, and it is exactly as strange a series as the premise makes it sound. Yet any book that heads up the hero against Fairy Queens and trade dealers is bound to be interesting, in the least.

We previously delivered a positive, spoiler-free review of the last issue, Rivers of London: The Fey and the Furious Chapter Two: Dancing Queen and if you haven't read that one yet, you can find it right here. If you're all caught up, let's start digging into this week's issue.

The scariest thing to imagine in a world filled with magic would be to face it without it, but thats the conundrum which our hero faces when Rivers of London: The Fey and the Furious Chapter Three: Too Fey Too Furious opens. He finds himself trapped between a rock and a hard place - or more literally the end of the world and the unknown, and thrusts himself headfirst into the unknown.

It isn't long before Grant finds himself in over his head, having unraveled an unsettling mystery we won't spoil for you. The issue spends its entirety around set-up for what is to come, however, and therefore there is no racing in this comic - but that shouldn't be a problem for fans of the magical aspects of the series as that is whats leaned into most heavily this round.

Rivers of London: The Fey and the Furious Chapter Three: Too Fey Too Furious isn't quite the crazy ride that Rivers of London: The Fey and the Furious Chapter Two: Dancing Queen proved to be, yet it still hammers home an interesting and fantastical mystery tale that fans of the book series will want to unravel. You'll be on the edge of your seat and ready for issue four by the final page, without question. - Five out of Five
Written by series creator, Ben Aaronovitch, the latest arc from the award-winning urban fantasy series Rivers of London reaches its thrilling conclusion as Detective Peter Grant races towards reality after finding himself trapped in a dangerous fairyland. With a nefarious trade dealer to catch and a furious Fairy Queen hot on his tail, can Peter make it to the finish line?

Rivers of London: The Fey and the Furious Chapter Three: Too Fey Too Furious goes on sale today for $3.99 from Titan Comics!
