Who Could Direct a Deadpool Movie?

Who Could Direct a Deadpool Movie?

In this list, I ask who could direct the next Deadpool movie (in the very likely event of a sequel)?

Holy hell people did not like my opinions on Spider-Man. Oh well, why don't we discuss something different? Like the insane-ninja version of Spider-Man, and who should direct his next film in the likely event of a sequel (should the director of the first installment leave). So with that said, here is my top three directors to do a Deadpool movie.

3. Kevin Smith

Silent Bob, Fatman and the creator of the cult film Clerks is certainly a great pick for the Deadpool movie. His writing is nerdy, clever and most importantly - R-rated. No stranger to writing Superheroes, Smith has penned Batman, Green Arrow and DareDevil. His crude jokes mixed with his clever dialog would make for an awesome Deadpool movie. Maybe he'd need help with the action? But I can't get over the Idea of Deadpool teaming up with Bluntman and Chronic.

2. Edgar Wright

With Ant-Man taken from him (I'm still disappointed) Edgar Wright needs to be given another comic book movie. Scott Pilgrim was amazing, and the Cornetto Trilogy is a rare trinity of awesomeness. Imagine Edgar Wright in control of this property? Deadpool knows he's in a comic, making for a very entertaining amount of fourth wall breaks.

Imagine him doing this in the movie? Making fun of the style of the movie, maybe teasing Scott Pilgrim's box office earnings. Too Meta? Edgar has a chance to poke fun at himself while still having a great time making an awesome movie around a fantastic character.

*Drumroll*

1. Quenten Tarantino

The finest film-maker with a feverish foot-fetish (that was a mouthful), unless you count the monolog in Kill Bill Vol 2 or his small guest directed scene in Sin City, Quentin has very little experience in Comic Book Movies. So, arguably the best place to start would be with a character who is offensive, clever and funny. Much like Django was for Westerns or Pulp Fiction was for Crime films, with a director like Tartintino at the helm, Deadpool could be one of the best of the genre. While he is on top of my list, he is probably the least likely due to his business with The Hateful Eight and other independent projects.

So thats my thoughts on who could direct a Deadpool movie. What are your thoughts? Leave them in the Comments below!

Matthew Vaughn would be perfect

Out of those 3, definitely Kevin Smith. I would be completely heart-broken if Edgar Wright was ever even remotely involved with a Deadpool movie.

@Gusto

And Hal Jordan deserves the Dennis Dugan treatment.

The scary thing is, I could see Uwe Boll actually having success with a ridiculous character like Deadpool. I know everyone and their dog hated Postal, but I had so much fun watching that movie. (Although that could've been the blowjob I was receiving because my girlfriend at the time hated the movie)

Matthew Vaughn or Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Why not bring back Tim Miller since the first was successful enough to warrant a sequel?

Me in the bullpen and you behind the camera, man, we could work magic with a Deadpool flick.

With @Gusto as Blind Al and @batz11 as Deadpool.

If it's good enough for a sequel, how about return the director?

You can't have an Umpa-Lumpa as Deadpool.

That is awesome. Wade as Green Lantern is 1000 times cooler than Hal Hamhead Jordan!

Matthew Vaughn, Kick-Ass and Kingsman are perfect examples of comic books gone R-rated.

Tarantino or Lord/Miller

Matthew Vaughn would be my top pick. I think he knows how to do explicit violence in a way that's so ridiculous that it's fun instead of hard to watch. I actually prefer his action scenes to Tarantino's, since he does them with this great amped up energy. I think all that combined with the humor of Kick-Ass and Kingsmen show he'd be perfect to make Deadpool a hit.

If he could do some humor, I think Joon-ho Bong could do Deadpool justice. With Snowpiercer, it had some awesome gun violence scenes, some random ass ridiculousness, and a pretty unique and futuristic story with some interesting characters.

This is only if Smith and Tarantino couldn't/wouldn't do it, though.

I'm actually slapping myself for not thinking of Mathew Vaughn
