I can´t talk for everyone, but for me the comics alway were a kind of scape from reality. During the hardest period in my life Iron Man, Hulk and Batman came out. I already knew the Hulk and Batman were comics, but when I saw Iron Man in Hulk i was like "WTF?". Then I´ve started to read Marvel Comics CB and reading about it in sites. I have a life ,but it is good scape from it sometimes.

wow... seriously?... i love it how the media will take notice on something like ComicCon and have so many ???? above their heads and ask "why why why" and wonder why so many people of thousands come together and enjoy what they love... comics, scifi, horror,.... it's because we LOVE comics and we LOVE what makes us happy, and we'll spend the $70 on the ticket for a weekend of total stress-free fu**ing ass-kicking!!! i sure as hell do!!
and they all have a look of disgust on their faces "oh my god, why are these people paying so much money for this?? Its a work day, dont they have more important things to do and places to be???"

ok, why dont i see a story like this about the NFL?? or the NHL?? where people spend $100's on tickets for sporting events for only a half-days enjoyment... why dont i see a story about people paying $100's to see their favorite band in concert for only about 3-4 hours of their day???

FU** THE MEDIA!! I SAY GIVE THEM HELL!! THROW OUR FISTS AND OUR PLASTIC/FOAM SWORDS AND STAFFS AT THEM!! GIVE THEM WHAT THEY'RE LAUGHING AT!! PUT ON YOUR JOKER MAKEUP!! PUT ON THE COSTUME YOU HAD CUSTOM MADE FROM JAPAN!! DIG OUT THE COMICS!! DIG OUT THE B-MOVIE DVD COLLECTION!!! BECAUSE WE'RE THE ONES WHO ARE SITTING HAPPY WHILE THEY WATCH FROM THE SIDE LINES AND WORRY ABOUT THEIR NEXT STARBUCKS VISIT!!!

NERDS ASSEMBLE!! STRIKE DOWN THE HAMMER!! *thunder*
