We've heard a bit from Foxx on this already, but in a one-on-one 10 minute interview with JoBlo the actor speaks in detail about what makes Electro tick, his relationship with his mother, initially trying to team with Spider-Man and much more.

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

I'm still really hoping that Marvel and all of these other studios strike a deal an we can see Spidey fighting along side the Avengers and the X-Men

You know, the way Foxx justifies evrything, it makes sense, but still I think it's hard to make that work on-screen convincingly, a character like Max Dillon as he says it's being portrayed in this adaptation.

If we can't have Spidey in the MCU then how about we gut punch Sony By having Spider Woman In The Universe it be interesting to see and Sony has no rights toward spiderwoman just my thoughts but can't wait till this movie

I like electros orgin. Reminds me of one of jokers many Orgins. Neglection and under appreciation. But I hope the tone of the film remains consistint and the cheese is put to a minimum as in only in scenes like the Rochester chase scene. Not the climax, TASM was the least campy/cheesy Spider-Man film but it could Defiently improve in the second. Hans Zimmer scoring is a big plus in the tone department. Horner was all over the place but if he has Zimmer by his side it should be good. Oh and the Rochester chase scene is a year before electro is formed. So it's the year TASM happend and a lot of TASM2 will take place this year. Got it

I'm getting more excited for this but I'm still worried. I don't like Harry being the goblin, and I'm worried they're introducing too many characters. I know some people loved TASM and some hated it. I was middle of the road- I'd give it a 7. The actors in this are amazing though- 2 Oscar winners and another nominated as the villians!- you know the acting will be great. As long as the story isn't weak or too convoluted. I now have more faith in this than DOFP and I'm a huge X-Men comic fan.

No matter what- we as fanboys, nerds, and comic geeks should be happy. This is the age of super heroes- and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.

@jerryblake yes from the makers of the matrix trilogy.....having seen some of this movie being made all I can say is my humble opinion it will have the same impact as what the original matrix movie did.

They said they introducing many characters, some more, more less and we see them more in TASM2,3 AND 4.
So, Marc Webb said that he wants to make Spider-Man movie like Games of Thrones. You get it what i mean? Stuff is going on, but in 1 movie, but all in 3.

Jamie Foxx is the only reason I even want to see this movie after the disappointment that was the first The Amazing Spider-man.

I'm so excited to see his performance. He's so humble. As for this interview, it was very insightful and I'm glad he's so passionate about the character. One question I would've liked to hear asked was what he thinks of other Marvel characters
