With 2022 on its way out, we're going to start looking ahead to next year with our epic 2023 movie preview, where we'll spotlight nearly every major upcoming release studio-by-studio.
Warner Bros. basically limped to the end of 2022, so they're going to need a huge bounce back in 2023 and they have an interesting quartet of DC projects that have the potential to be very lucrative at the box office, despite the fact that the two biggest titles will likely be retconned for James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Universe.
The Flash is undoubtedly the buzziest of the four, but don't sleep on Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Blue Beetle, which should be just as entertaining. Then, there's Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom arriving on Christmas, which should officially put a pin in Zack Snyder's version of these characters.
WB is also expecting big things from Creed III, Barbie, and The Nun 2, but don't forget this fall's big show-shopper, the long-awaited Dune: Part Two!

House Party
WB is kicking their year off with House Party, a reboot of the 1990 comedy of the same name, and this time, they're upping the ante by taking the party to LeBron's house, which should be plenty entertaining.

Creed III
Creed III already has one of the most badass trailers of the year and promises to be one of the best films of 2023, as Adonis finds himself in an unexpected situation when a figure from his past returns and challenges him to the showdown to end all showdowns. Don't miss this one!

Shazam! Fury of the Gods
While the future of DC remains in flux, Shazam! Fury of the Gods will lighten the mood a bit and with Peter Safran producing, it's likely this is one hero that might have a bright future in the new DC Universe, but first, he's going to have to take down the Daughters of Atlas!

Evil Dead Rise
Evil Dead Rise is the fifth installment in the franchise and the film's synopsis reads, "a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A. apartment. The sisters' reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie's building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable."

The Flash
The Flash might be a cursed film, but that doesn't mean it also won't be a good one. It's been reportedly testing well for months, which is not a surprise considering Andy Muschietti is in the director's chair, and will see the Scarlet Speedster partner with a number of other DC heroes, so expect this one to be a big draw next Summer, even if Miller will likely be dropped from the role long before it hits theaters.

Barbie
Greta Gerwig directing a Barbie movie with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken, respectively, is talent we can get behind. Whether it lives up to the hype remains to be seen, but we can guarantee it's going to garner a lot of eyeballs leading up to its July debut.

Blue Beetle

Dune: Part Two
If Dune: Part Two isn't near the top of your must-see list for 2023, then what are you doing, man? The sequel promises to be even more action-packed than its predecessor as Paul Atreides partners with Chani and the Fremen to seek out revenge against those that destroyed fireworks. Expect fireworks when this opens early November!

The Color Purple is getting a musical remake, based on its own 2005 stage musical of the same name. Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey are onboard as producers as well, so expect this to be a potential big winner over the holiday season.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
The DC Extended Universe formally comes to a close with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom next Christmas, although we're willing to wager Jason Momoa will continue to have a future in the DC Universe, as Peter Safran also co-produced this feature. However, with all the upcoming changes, it remains to be seen how much of that connective tissue will remain in this film.

Coyote vs. Acme
Coyote vs. Acme isn't dated yet, but is expected to arrive sometime in 2023. The synopsis teases the plot, "After all of the ACME Corporation's malfunctioned products consistently backfired on him, in his dogged pursuit of the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote hires a down-on-his-luck human attorney to sue the company. When Wile E.'s hired lawyer notices that his intimidating boss at his former law firm is representing ACME, they form a friendship and team up to win the court case against him."

Salem's Lot
The teaser for Salem's Lot played during CinemaCon last year and was sufficiently scary, so it's a bit puzzling why the studio has left this undated. Regardless, we should still it in 2023 and we're willing to bet it'll arrive before that Halloween window.
