Warner Bros. Pictures could well wind up taking a hit on Justice League, but the Zack Snyder-helmed DC team-up movie did help the studio pass the $5 billion mark at the global box office, along with another DCEU flick.

SPOILERS: The Main Characters Of JUSTICE LEAGUE Ranked From Least To Most Memorable

WB crossed the huge milestone this year for the second time in its history, mainly thanks to five of its movies surpassing $500M: Wonder Woman ($821.8M), It ($694.2M), Kong: Skull Island ($566.7M), Dunkirk ($525.0M), and the recently released Justice League which currently sits at $570.3.

WB’s president of worldwide marketing and distribution Sue Kroll said the following:

“We are thrilled to reach this extraordinary benchmark as we come to the end of an amazing, record-setting year,” said Sue Kroll, WB’s president of worldwide marketing and distribution. “Surpassing $5 billion in a single year can only happen with an incredible level of hard work across all theatrical divisions, as well as the invaluable contributions of the many talented filmmakers and actors with whom we are so fortunate to collaborate. Congratulations to everyone who shares in this success.”

So while the studio has to be disappointed that Justice League didn't do better, this great achievement should definitely serve as some consolation.

@OedipusGrex - Yeah, but Disney reached the $5 billion mark a while back. After TLJ makes its money, the Mouse House could hit $7 billion.

@Skrull -

I'm almost certain it will, my friend, but that's not why I made the comment. I'm just sick and tired of seeing this word being thrown around all the time, ever since we first heard of the deal with Fox being made.

Evidently enough, the competition is still alive and kicking. Like the inferior childish copycat that it is, in terms of this site's genre.

@Skrull - Keep in mind that the big hits for WB this year also had lower budgets, so they're still profiting great this year. JustShit League is just a mark on their profits this year. IT made almost $700 Million off of $35 Million and Wonder Woman made over $800 Milion off of a $150 million budget. Wonder Woman is also the highest grossing superhero movie of all time state side, and the highest grossing origin movie of all time. IT is also the highest grossing horror film of all time now as well. So taking that all into account, and it has been an amazing year for Warner Brothers. So no, Disney are not a monopoly.
