The teaser trailer for
Deadpool 2 came out of nowhere, and the internet lost its collective mind.
Entitled "Wet on Wet" (because why not?), Deadpool spoofs the late Bob Ross as he "dances in a happy little sky." In between the spoofs there is exactly 10 seconds of footage. That may not seem like a lot, but trust me when I say that they JAM PACKED every ounce of action they could into that 10 seconds.
The actual film footage features Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) in many scenes. We get our first look at Domino (Zazie Beetz) and a yet unamed character played by Julian Dennison. Returning to the fray, we get to see Negasonic Tennage Warhead (Brianna Hilderbrand), Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), Weasel (T.J. Miller), Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), and my personal favorite - Dopinder (Karan Soni).
And at the very end, we get a very sneaky peek of the man we've been clamoring to see since he was announced at the end of the first movie. Cable's (Josh Brolin) techno-organic hand can be seen reaching across table full of tools (and by tools we mean weapons).
With all that said, here are your top 5:
Deadpool as Bob Ross
I mean c'mon, does it get any funnier than this? Deadpool (Ryans Reynolds) spoofs Bob Ross with some pretty hilarious lines. In the past Deadpool has had some pretty crative marketing strategies, but I think this one takes the cake.
Negasonic Teenage Warhead
New hair, same teenage angst! Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hilderbrand), telling someone exactly how she feels. I mean we all knew she ws coming back, but to see how amazing she looks this go around is totally different. And she was my personal favorite in the first movie. Here's hoping to way more screen time in the sequel.
This yet unamed baddie
We don't know who this guys is yet, but he sure seems like a hot-head! This yet unamed character is played by Julian Dennison (
Hunt For The Wilderpeople). Could he be Pyro (remember Pyro in the X-Men arcade game? Classic)? There's also rumors going around that he could be the Neil Shaara version of Thunderbird, guess we'll find out when the movie comes out. Or someone lets it slip.
Domino
Here's our first look at Domino played by Zazie Beetz (
Atlanta, Geostorm, Wolves). For those who don't know, Domino is a mutant mercenary who is an excellent marksman, has exceptional hand-to-hand skills, and has mutant probability altering powers. In the comics, she was a sometimes partner and love interest of Deadpool, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out in the movie - especially with Vanessa still in the mix.
Cable
And of course, there's Cable! Well his techno-organic hand at least. Cable is played by Josh Brolin (
No Country For Old Men, W., Sicario, The Goonies). Deadpool announced at the end of his first film that the time traveling, big gun toting son of Cyclops would be appearing in the sequel. And the world has been waiting not so patiently to see who would play the character ever since. When Brolin landed the role, I was excited, because an actor of Brolin's status will definitely do the character justice.
Deadpool 2 is set to hit theaters on Jun 1 2018.
