DEADPOOL 2 Director David Leitch Talks About Assembling X-FORCE In The Upcoming Sequel

The latest trailer for Deadpool 2 confirmed that Wade Wilson will assemble X-Force to seemingly do battle with Cable and now director David Leitch has shed some light on how he brings the team together...

Deadpool was a smash hit back in 2016 so it's no surprise that expectations are for the sequel to deliver next month. Based on what we've seen from the movie, Fox is definitely looking to go bigger and better with the follow-up, introducing an entire team of new heroes in the form of X-Force. While the signs are pointing to that group assembling to fight Josh Brolin's Cable, there's so much we don't know about the movie, it's actually impossible to figure out what's to come at this point in time.

Regardless, seeing that group come together promises to be a lot of fun and director David Leitch - who takes the reigns following Tim Miller's unexpected departure - has now shed some light on that.

"Building a team in the classic style of all action movies, there's
great opportunity for conflict," the filmmaker says, adding that while Wade Wilson struggles to get on with his fellow superheroes, "it's not because he doesn't want to. Maybe his fun, never-stop-talking personality is a little grating and people get tired of him. It's not for lack of his good heart. At the end of the day, he wants to be a better person and do the right thing, and sometimes his thinking is flawed, like all of us."

In the first Deadpool, the Merc with the Mouth made his lack of interest in joining the X-Men clear so it should be fun seeing how X-Force differs to that group and what sort of a leadership role he takes on here. Watched Deadpool on FX last night. Holy shit. They barely censored anything. I noticed FX started allowing f-bombs when The People vs. OJ aired but I was really surprised they loosened up that much.

@knocturnalzen10

It was really strange for sure. I’m happy these channels are loosening up though. I think AMC is starting to do it too.

@knocturnalzen10

Lol like we know what John McClane is saying when he says: “Yippee Kai Yay, Mr. Falcon.”

Casino (tv version) censored Joe Pesci from “mother[frick]ing jew” to “money loving jew.”

Haha like is that really the better option?

@regularmovieguy - show like twd had to tone it down a bit at one point on AMC because the rawness of the bat scene and the next few eps was a bit too heavy for viewers.

@knocturnalzen10

That’s soft af. If you can’t handle over-the-top violence on a show called “The Walking Dead” then they shouldn’t watch the show.

@regularmovieguy - yea especially how negan was speaking , if it wasn't for jdm charisma they would've cut those eps sooner.....

Placeholder X-force, since we know that audiences in test screenings are loving Domino and it has leaked many of the X-force members in this film are death fodder I think the only ones that remain post Deadpool 2 are.

Cable
Domino
Deadpool
Shatterstar

@aflynn - Negasonic I could see with x-force also but I think she and colossus remain x-men only.

@aflynn - I hope they just use Shatterstar as a parody, just like the real one seemed to be. This movie would be the perfect place to do it. He could be the red shirt to Mr. Pools away team.

Still not feeling domino... the patch around her eye isn’t even that prominent.. she’s kinda lite skinned to begin with, so it doesn’t pop like in the comics. She’s hot, and could be an amazing Domino, really depends on how her powers’s are portrayed on screen... she just wouldn’t have been my first choice... got a feeling this sequel will fall short of the high bar the first one set..
