DEADPOOL 2 Star Brianna Hildebrand Addresses Those Test Screening And Reshoot Rumors

Deadpool is widely considered one of the best superhero movies of all-time but a lot of negative buzz has surrounded the sequel in recent weeks. There's been talk of disastrous test screenings and extensive reshoots and while later reports made it clear that the movie actually scored highly and the reshoots only took place to add more Cable and Domino, that hasn't stopped some fans from worrying.

Brianna Hildebrand (who plays Negasonic Teenage Warhead and returns with a new look in the anticipated follow-up) talked with ScreenGeek about those reports and was quick to dismiss them.

"No, it was nothing that had gone wrong. I think it’s a common misconception too – that people think that reshoots are to fix things that people didn’t like," the actress explained after being pushed for details. "A lot of the time, reshoots are to add more of the things that people loved. [Filmmakers] watch their films again and are like 'better fix that.'" I don’t know how much I can say about that."

"Usually films hate it when you talk about their reshoots – solely because people think that it’s because the film was bad for the test audience – but it was all good," Hildebrand added, making it clear that fans have nothing to worry about when it comes to the quality of Deadpool 2. Do you buy what the actress is selling here? As always, feel free to weigh in with your thoughts down below.

I don’t know what it is, but I am so turned on by her...

@chewie - Is it because she's cool, funny and attractive?

@chewie - She has a very commanding look. Comes across very much as, "I'm in control of me and I know what I'm doing". I like it.

@BackwardGalaxy - you just described my wife ... well... add in that “cool, funny, and attractive” comment and that’s her...

@Whaley87 - I think you guys cancel each other out. If you're gay and she's a lesbian then it's like a negative + a negative = a positive so that will work for both of you.

“Deadpool is widely considered one of the best superhero movies of all-time...”

Really? I enjoyed it, but I have to admit it’s an empty-calorie novelty.

@NoAssemblyReqd - I think it was one of the best conceived and best executed, certainly. It's like that story of how Giotto drew a perfect circle to demonstrate his artistic skill, besting his contemporaries. Deadpool is a character of inherent difficulty, so doing film that so perfectly encapsulates him while also reflecting the necessities of blockbuster filmmaking was an achievement in itself.

@NoAssemblyReqd - I'd say it's in my top 10. It made a great change to have a different style of comic book movie. It was basically a comedy film parodying the entire genre.

@NoAssemblyReqd - it’s well made, well structured, has a decent message, awesome action, and is funny as [frick]. Takes the piss out of a genre that needs the piss taken out of it.

One of the best cbms!

Well clearly she is going to defend her movie, thankfully, but I still find these reshoots very odd if they’re being added to make for funnier/more scenes of domino and cable. That would make this the first movie to reshoot scenes for adding more instead of fixing something. Whatever, still can’t wait for cable!

After suicide squad and rogue one, the word “reshoot” terrifies me.

The very fate of R rated cbms may rest with this film

Yeah, because those massive reshoot "rumors" for Justice League and Suicide Squad were just harmless reshoots. Those movies were just masterpieces.

Deadpool was basically a parody of ComicBook Movies. The edge that it presented won't last for the long haul because as with all parodies the jokes start to get stale.

Deadpool was lightning in a bottle. As I said before, there is no need to worry about Disney killing Deadpool when they finally own FOX because Deadpool in this incarnation will have already died off by then.
