Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, as part of their Summer Movie Preview, Deadpool 2 star Ryan Reynolds shared a few interesting details on how Wade Wilson has evolved as a person over the past two years and it sounds like not much has changed since we saw him last. “Wade has settled into his new life and new looks and settled into everything else in particular his relationship in a pretty positive way. But he’s also a victim of his own hubris once we start the movie and that’s what sort of creates the conflicts and the issues he has to deal with.

This time he'll find himself caught up in the escapades of the time-traveling Cable (Josh Brolin), who has arrived in the present to capture a seemingly innocent kid (Julian Dennison) that has a personal to our friendly neighborhood Merc. Director David Leitch hints, "They both have their competing agendas: one is to capture the kid and one is to save the kid. He’s valuable to both of them in different ways it becomes personal for both of them.” However, stopping Cable will be a little easier said than done, which will convince Deadpool to form a superteam of his own: the X-Force.

Along with the new details, EW has also released a new photo, featuring Wilson channeling John Cusack's character in Say Anything to recruit Colossus (Stefan Kapičić). Check it out below along with the new TV spot that offers a little more context

That was the best spot yet. The Say Anything gag is probably too dated for most people under 30, just like the Flashdance poster.

After seeing RPO in Dolby Cinema, I am sold! The immersion effect from THE greatest sound placement and loudness supersedes IMAX in some ways. Yeah a bigger screen is better but I like to FEEL like I'm in a movie, in those ways nothing beats Dolby Cinema! Maybe 70mm lol, which they're bringing back 2001: A Space Odyssey in 70 mm! All about dem Tangents baby 😬

I like how they're leaning into so many X-Men/Cable comics where it ends up boiling down to the X-Men having to fight Cable. Makes me interested in whether or not he's Cyclops son in this one

Also realizing that it's possible to have a hype limit, which I didn't even know was possible. Deadpool 2 actually looks better than the first in certain ways and looks like a much better X-Men adaptation than any of their other films, yet Infinity War has vacuumed up every last bit of hype I have available, so much so that I barely feel anything watching these despite how good most of it looks

I like that Sebastian Stan is seated right next to him, and Chris Evans is right up front.
