DEADPOOL 3 Fan Art Imagines What Hugh Jackman Will Look Like In Wolverine's Classic Comic Book Costume

Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, but will the X-Men star finally don Logan's comic-accurate costume? This jaw-dropping fan art offers an idea of what that could look like in the threequel!

Deadpool 3 is shaping up to be one heck of a movie, and based on recent reports, we'll follow the Merc with the Mouth as he's pursued by the Time Variance Authority through the Multiverse.

Surprisingly, the threequel looks set to take us back to the X-Men Universe, hence why Hugh Jackman's Wolverine will be part of the story.

This marks the actor's long-awaited return to the role following 2017's Logan and the hope among fans is that, with Marvel Studios calling the shots, the actor might finally don the hero's classic yellow and blue costume.

Thanks to some incredible new fan art, we have a better idea of what Jackman could look like decked out in Wolvie's suit from the comics. There's no reason why this couldn't work in live-action, but the closest we've ever come to seeing it on screen is in a deleted scene from 2013's The Wolverine (and even then it was just in a case).

Based on recent comments, Jackman is excited to don the claws again, though it doesn't sound like that will necessarily be the final time he does so. There are already rumblings the actor will reprise the role in Avengers: Secret Wars, and we're hoping he eventually wears this classic costume in at least one of these upcoming projects.

Either way, we anticipate Wade Wilson being left stranded in the MCU by the time this team-up wraps up as that would bring Ryan Reynolds' Merc into this shared world on a permanent basis.

Cameras will soon begin rolling on the next Deadpool movie, so we may get a first look at Logan in action long before any official material drops.

Deadpool 3 will be released in theaters on November 8, 2024.

That looks pretty good. Would be sweet if they actually went with the yellow suit and cowl

I guess I don't understand why they need to bring Reynolds' Deadpool over from the Fox-verse. Wouldn't there be a Wade Wilson MCU version already? I suppose they can say he never go the treatment the Fox Deadpool got and he died of his cancer.

@CorndogBurglar - Probably because it’s a role that he can play for a long time without actually being the in the suit, due the unmasked scenes needing prosthetics, masking his age.

@CorndogBurglar - this whole phase has been them getting lazy, just pulling as much pre established stuff in as possible

@PlusUltra - I get that. But I'm saying there must be a Wade Wilson somewhere in the MCU already. They could have even had Ryan Reynolds play him.

I'm saying, story-wise, why all the need to bring over the Fox Deadpool and doing the multiverse hopping when they could have just introduced the MCU Deadpool. Like they are doing with Daredevil. We know he's not the same Daredevil from Netflix but they didn't feel the need to send Netflix DD through the multiverse to arrive here in the MCU. So why couldn't they have just done the same with Deadpool?

I'm not saying I hate the idea, because it will be fun hearing Deadpool make the inevitable jokes about the Fox universe and MCU being different. But still, it seems like a lot of effort, story-wise, when they could have just introduced the MCU Deadpool and been done with it.

@CorndogBurglar - My guess is that it's for a number of reasons and it actually makes more sense to me than for a character like DD:

1. Wade is already apparently aware of multiple universes/timelines based on comments he's made (like about Stewart/McAvoy) and it's possible that that could make him a multiversal singularity in the MCU

2. Apparently Marvel is happy with all the backstory that has been already established for DP in the previous 2 movies and wants to keep at least a decent amount of it around (it remains to be seen how many of the other established DP characters will actually cross over to the MCU as well (i.e. Cable, Domino, Vanessa, etc.). Plus, this saves marvel from having to give a new DP a new backstory that takes up the first act of a movie. Unlike Matt, for example, who will getting his entire 18 episode season to fill in his backstory, as far as I know there aren't any plans for DP to get anything like that for himself so far.

3. And, yeah, like you said the jokes practically write themselves. PLUS, Wade can essentially act on behalf of the audience in this and explain what all is going on with the Multiverse and pulling in characters from different universes as he comes to understand it and such in addition to making jokes about it.

Dunno. Makes a lot of sense to me. But then again, so do Spanks. For men. I wear mine ALL the time, like around the house, while doing my yard work, in the shower, at the beach, etc. But that's just me.

@CorndogBurglar - because Reynolds never ages so they never need to recast him... they can sign him up for a 100 movie deal cheap no doubt.

@JonC - I must be explaining this wrong. I'm not saying replace Reynolds. I'm saying why go through all the effort of bringing the Fox Deadpool over when the MCU must have its own variant.

I don't think Hugh Jackman gonna wearing helmet.trust me. The only thing they will follow from the comic is the color scheme on his suit.thays all.

If there’s one retcon inaccuracy that never bother me, it’s the short and ugly replaced by tall and handsome. Having recently rewatched Twins, Arnold is def the one I would pick as a superhero of those two “well you’re wrong!” (Vincent cuts Jules’ head off) yes I realize that makes for a good wolverine and saber tooth, or let’s be more realistic, keep arnold as sabertooth and replace devito with a short fit guy but still not very handsome, like Chris Benoit minus the real life rage.

I guess cuz I’m short. We’re not heroes. We’re stupid.

@TheWalkingCuban - Same. I don’t give AF if he’s taller than the comic version is supposed to be. They made the Ultimate Universe version taller to better align with Jackman’s height, since he’s so iconic as the character. The “short king” stans can have Hawkeye. Renner is small as hell. Just don’t give me some puss boy like Harry Potter as Logan. That would suck.

@Jackraow21 - I still think with some bulking and the right hair, Redcliffe actually could play Wolverine
Jackraow21
Jackraow21 - 4/3/2023, 11:43 AM
@Slotherin - I'll just agree to disagree. He looks like a 10-year old boy, even with facial hair. Very slight frame too. Logan is stout. As wide as he is tall, so even if they go shorter, they need someone thick and wide. Actually, they need this ESPECIALLY if they go shorter so he still looks like a brick $#!thouse who can kick somebody's ass. Just my personal opinion, of course, but Radcliffe is all wrong for Logan in my eyes.

Would you happen to have one for the Dark Knight trilogy?
