DEADPOOL 3: Ryan Reynolds And Hugh Jackman's Update Video Has Been Deciphered By A Lipreader

Yesterday, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman followed-up their Deadpool 3 announcement with a comedic update drowned out by music, but a lipreader has now done his best to figure out what they were saying!

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman broke the internet when they revealed that Deadpool 3 would feature a team-up between the Merc With a Mouth and Wolverine, and the pair followed-up the initial announcement teaser with an "update" video reassuring fans that the threequel wouldn't negate the events of Logan.

After beginning to delve into what happens in the film, Wham!'s "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" kicks in right after "these f*cking guys," and the music drowns out the pair's enthusiastic explanation. Now, a lipreader has done his best to decipher exactly what the actors were saying.

As you might expect, they weren't actually giving anything away about the movie's plot, but the video still makes for a fun watch.

We're still in the dark about how Logan will factor into the story, but there's plenty of comic book material to draw inspiration from. Reynolds has previously revealed that his original pitch for a third Deadpool film focused on a "Rashomon-style" road trip with Wade and Wolvie, so perhaps elements of that idea carried over?

Jackman's involvement also raises the question: is his take on Wolverine joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe along with Deadpool? We can't imagine the actor has committed to more than one additional appearance (he always said Logan would be his swan-song, after all), but who knows?

There is a rumor doing the rounds that Jackman will don Wolverine's classic yellow costume from the comics, but we wouldn't put too much stock in any supposed "plot leaks" that immediately followed this announcement.

What do you guys hope to see from Logan and Wade's team-up in Deadpool 3? Drop us a comment down below.

I think there's one thing we need to take from this,

"We're in our prime"

Now sure jokes aside they could just be saying this, but what if 'prime' is telling us that this is definitely set before Logan, before the accident while Logan was still in his prime?

Yeah I got nothing from that either.

@TheDpool - They already said this was set before Logan, that isn't news.

@Origame - I love how you say that almost as if Fox's X-Men universe wasn't a complete mess. Death meant nothing to them. Xavier burst into a cloud of nothing and then like ten years later he reappears and we got no explanation.
Origame
Origame - 9/29/2022, 2:46 PM
@TheDpool - ...there was an explanation. Early in the movie it was established there was a comatose man that in the end credits Charles put his consciousness into.

@Origame - Which explains why hes still played by Patrick Stewart? Which is mentioned again? I rewatched The Wolverine fairly recently and I'm pretty sure apart from Logan's suprise, there's no mention of it.

@TheDpool - ...it's been well established Charles can put images in people's heads. Is it really a stretch that Charles just projected his original face on his new body so as to not confuse people?
TheDpool
TheDpool - 9/29/2022, 6:08 PM
@Origame - did he project the wheelchair too then? Sorry but there would have been no confusion. The studio left it too long then thought "feck it who's gonna question this"

@TheDpool - dude, there's an 8 year difference between last stand and days of future past. Having Charles played by a completely different actor would've been confusing. Not to mention in universe where everyone knows Charles died. You really think they'd just believe a random guy they don't know when he claims to be Charles? Also, they clearly figured you either don't remember last stand or you've seen the end credits of that movie and can put 2 and 2 together.

As for the wheelchair, he actually needs it. The body he's using has been bedridden and brain dead for who knows how long. It's entirely reasonable that the body is incapable of using its legs either.

@Origame - it was his twin brother that was born braindead due to Charles being a mutant

@CaptainAmerica - so there. It's even more obvious what's going on. Thanks.

CaptainAmerica - 9/29/2022, 8:19 PM
@Origame - the most they explained in the actual film was that there was a comatose body. He was asking if it would be ethical to transfer someones mind into that body. They dont explain its his twin in the actual movie, its in the novelization where they explain it. Should be obvious though since they had the same voice lol.

@CaptainAmerica - yeah. While the fox verse does have a lot of inconsistencies in them (mostly from just ignoring the bad ones), there's also a whole host of inconsistencies we just insist are there when they really aren't if you put in just a little thought and pay attention.

Any chance they're gonna adapt Deadpool's road-trip with Shang-Chi only with Logan instead? Anyway, still can't get over how much of a win this is, on all levels.

I’d say Hughe Jackman has been playing us all ever since Logan and Deadpool 2 released. Reynolds has been teasing Hughe about playing Wolverine on more time since DP 2 came out and I think the scale tipping factor for Hughe was that he gets to be included in the MCU like he’s wanted to for a while. I’m glad to see these two reunite as their alter egos on screen.
Now… just get us a scene where Cable meets Thanos and makes fun of his voice.

@slickrickdesigns - Hugh knew he would return once he saw the 8 figures Disney would toss his way

slickrickdesigns - 9/29/2022, 9:20 AM
@GhostDog - I’m sure the money helped make the decision but that’s not the deciding factor as he was paid well for playing Wolverine in the foXverse too.
