Will DEADPOOL 3 Introduce The Marvel Cinematic Universe's New Wolverine? Possible SPOILERS

Some new Deadpool 3 rumors are doing the rounds online, and, if accurate, the movie may at least hint at which actor will be taking over from Hugh Jackman as the MCU's new Wolverine...

As (supposed) Deadpool 3 plot details continue to circulate online, we've rounded up a few of the juicier rumors relating to everyone's favorite mutant berserker, Wolverine.

A previous report claimed that the Merc With a Mouth (Ryan Reynolds) is going to seek out Logan Variants over the course of the movie before coming to the realization that nobody can "replace Hugh Jackman," but over the course of this search, we may just catch a glimpse of the actor who will ultimately step in to the role as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's new Wolverine.

It doesn't sound like anything is going to be anything close to a blatant reveal, but according to KC Walsh, we will have a "good idea" of who the MCU's Logan is going to be by the end of the threequel.

Could it be Karl Urban, perhaps?

Best not to read too much into this one, but GFR is reporting that The Boys star will appear in Deadpool 3 as a Wolverine Variant. Urban is often fan-cast in the role, just like Daniel Radcliffe (who is also rumored to show up), so we wouldn't be surprised if there was some truth to this. Him being introduced as the MCU's Logan is probably less likely, however.

Finally, MTTSH has shared some possible details on the very end/final shot of the film, so if you don't want an idea of how Wade Wilson's latest adventure concludes, here's your final spoiler warning.

Deadpool 3 is expected to be similar to The Flash when it comes to its Multiverse elements, with Wilson and Wolverine dropping in on various alternate realities and timelines. It sounds like a lot of other cameos have been lined up, including several X-Men characters (Storm, Cyclops, and Jean Grey among them), and possibly even Channing Tatum and Taylor Kitsch as different Variants of Gambit.

A recent rumor claimed that Liev Schreiber is set to reprise his X-Men Origins: Wolverine role as Victor Creed/Sabertooth. Variants of the Merc With a Mouth are also rumored to appear, including Dogpool, Kidpool, Lady Deadpool, and more.

The one major return that has been confirmed by the trades is Jennifer Garner as Elektra, but it seems speculation that Ben Affleck would be joining her as Daredevil was unfounded.

Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) And Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) will all return as their respective characters, and they'll be joined by franchise newcomers Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), whose roles are still under wraps.

Plot details also remain a mystery for now, but Wade and Wolvie are expected to find themselves (trapped?) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A recent report claimed that Loki's TVA, including Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Miss Minutes, will be involved. We have also been led to believe that Wade's MCU debut will be far more integral to Phase 5 and beyond than we first realized.

Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3, which is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2024.

Totally is.

Deadpool is a 4th wall breaker. I would expect as many of the fan-casted actors to appear and it would totally be in character for Deadpool to turn to the camera and wink. A Deadpool movie shouldn't have much of a point. It's an opportunity to cram as many jokes into 2 hours as you can and to give Ryan Reynolds an opportunity to crack wise.

CGI enhanced puppet, probably. At least for his most common hybrid form.

To begin with, yeah, although Yoda one is a lot more focused / restrained on the puppet part. It's a good starting point for Chopper's model, I think, but he needs those CGI enhancements for his expressions and such; let alone the rest of his transformation points.

all these different variants of characters really dilute the main characters. Peter Parker is spider-man and Hugh Jack is wolverine.

"Not exactly the movie will end will a good idea of who the MCUs Wolverine will be"...

Come on, man. These are the "insiders"? Sipping champagne with the Hollywood elites and passing crumbs of rumor to us plebs.

"#Deadpool3 ends on a poetic note with Deadpool and Wolverine sharing some pizza together" ... [frick]ing riveting. The movie isn't anywhere close to finished on filming, and you're telling us about how it ends, probably on some draft 3 of 12 script(which is probably being too generous).

@EgoEgor - I think it's typo mixed with missing punctuation. Had to read the first part myself a few times. I believe it should say (meaning it was a response to something else, "Not exactly. The movie will end with a good idea of who the MCUs Wolverine will be."

It's very obviously Hugh Jackman until a reset which won't be until 2030 ish

I don't give one shit about the mulitverse at this point, but they're just gonna keep beating it to death.

The MCU needs to move forward with a new arc if it is to survive long term imo.
There are so many more interesting storylines to cover that haven't even been touched on, like truly exploring the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe etc.
The multiverse has been boring and redundant with no stakes. Move on from that and drop lame ass Kang.

@Feralwookiee - The Mutant Saga is the way forward for the MCU, and putting the Avengers as the main focus of the MCU to the side. The team isn’t the same without Iron Man, Cap and Thor as the focal point in the audiences eyes, and the X-Men and mutants in general can be the focus.

X-Men related question to anyone with an opinion

IF the Fox X-Men presented Rogue with her Mrs Marvel-esque powers, if you were writing the movie, from whom would she get those powers?

I ask because I'm trying to propose a nerdy rewrite of the FoX-Men and I cannot figure out how to power her up unless it's from 2 different sources
McMurdo
McMurdo - 9/14/2023, 9:25 PM
@ager - there's no one in the fox universe who has Cap Marvels powers. Phoenix would ruin her before she tried.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 9/14/2023, 11:40 PM
@ager - We're talking about the MCU. They haven't really accurately introduced any new characters since the Infinity Saga ended. I could easily see them just saying flight and super strength are also powers Rogue was born with.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 9/14/2023, 11:44 PM
@McMurdo - To be fair Rogue doesn't have all of Captain Marvel's powers either though. She really just absorbed her super strength and flight. None of her energy based abilities were passed on to Rogue for some reason.

So really, anyone in the MCU that can fly and has super strength could be used. But that's still a pretty short list of characters.

What is it? Captain Marvel, Thor, that dude from Eternals? If the rumors are true about Thunderbolts, maybe Sentry?

Captain Marvel still sounds like the best choice out of all of those.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 9/14/2023, 11:47 PM
@ager - If they do actually go the stolen powers route, then anyone with flight and super strength would fit the bill.

Captain Marvel. Thor. The dude from Eternals. Sentry, if he's really being introduced in Thunderbolts.

I can't really think of anyone else that has those two powers. And Thor is kind of cheating because he doesn't really fly. He throws his hammer and it pulls him. So he probably doesn't even belong on the list, even though there are more than enough scenes with him that make it look like he can fly on his own.
