At the end of season one, Rumple brought magic to StoryBrooke. Later on its revealed through flashbacks that Mr. Gold brought magic to town so he could find his son. While I enjoyed this season I don't think it was as good as season one, but it was a step in the right direction. Going into season 3 and towards the end of season 2 the writing has gotten a lot better. Right away I was excited to see where season 2 was going and it didn't disappoint. The curse is broken and new adventures begin for our characters. One of the things about the show that got me hooked was the whole enchanted forest thing. Most of this season was in StoryBrooke, to my dismay.

Strangers came to story brook for the first time. An annoying dude with a big head searching for his father and an African American chick, who at first I thought was this universes version of Pocahontas. Don't know why I thought that, but whatever I guess. This season we are introduced to Captain Hook and Cora, Regina's crazy sorcerer mother. It was she who was partially responsible for her daughter succombing to the "dark side". Rumple was also involved. More flashbacks explain how Emma met Neil/Bael-fire, who I originally thought was Peter Pan. Red Riding Hood has like one episode the whole season, which I feel is unfortunate. One thing that got annoying in season 2 were the constant 3 week breaks. That's what brought this season down at least to me.

It was like a roller coaster that ended too soon, if that's even the right term. Things started to pick up speed toward the end of the season. Whispers of Peter Pan and Never Land really got me pumped up for the following season, which I have to say has impressed me. The show has gotten significantly darker and is easily the best if not better than season one so far. One thing we all have to remember is that the characters in this universe are NOT fairy tales. These are different interpretations than what we've all grown up with. I look forward to many more seasons
