Doctor Strange was very similar to Iron Man in terms of how Stephen Strange's origin story played out, but visually, the Marvel Studios movie was unlike anything we had seen before. 

From Stephen Strange's trip through the Multiverse to our visit to the Dark Dimension, it was a jaw-dropping movie which delivered an intriguing new hero for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 

Now, we have some amazing, newly surfaced concept art from Doctor Strange featuring alternate character designs, key moments which did and didn't make it into the film, some truly terrifying takes on the Dread Dormammu, and plenty of trippy imagery which will play with your minds.

I just realized yesterday they kinda did Scarlett Johansson dirty at Marvel. We were never getting a Black Widow movie, they had plenty of opportunities. But as soon as Captain Marvel made a billion dollars it was almost like the light bulb went off that they could make a billion dollars with a female led movie and they were like okay, we're good!

I hope the sequel picks up all the wasted potential the first one left on the floor. It's not a bad movie but a little cookie cutter and not nearly as weird or ambitious as Feige hyped me up to believe.

Really hope they bring back dormammu and do more with him. And these concept arts are pretty “trippy” and hoofing the next movie is a bit more like this concept art too. I get the marvel formula works, but with Disney+ shows and the idea that these movies are all sort of going in new directions, let’s hope they really bring the “horror” aspect and feel.

One thing I find consistent is that 90% of the time when they release concept art, I generally prefer it to the design they used. I would have preferred a more horror-esque Dormammu like some of these. Just hoping the next one gets real weird.
