One Of The Zealots Feels The Wrath Of Kaecilius In This Deleted Scene From Marvel's DOCTOR STRANGE

The first deleted scene from the upcoming Blu-ray release of Marvel's Doctor Strange has just debuted over at EW.

In it, Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen) and his band of Zealots gather in an attempt to get the Dread Dormammu's attention. One of the followers questions Kaecilius' methods, but when the ritual is complete he's the one left without a glowing symbol on his head, which mean he must die... apparently.

You can check out the scene HERE.

Director Scott Serrickson also explains that this deleted sequence, along with the others that'll feature on the disc, were not particularly hard to part with:

“I really liked those scenes and I think everyone did a good job on them, [but] they weren’t hard to cut. We tested the movie with and without them. It wasn’t just about the audience’s reaction, it was really how the movie felt. Pauline Kael used to always talk about the director needing to know where the audience wants to be, and at that point of the movie, the audience didn’t want to be jumping around, they wanted to stay with Strange, who’s on this very interesting, very personal, and very dramatic journey. The intrusion of those scenes was breaking up the soul of the movie in a way that just wasn’t necessary. We didn’t need it. When we removed them, we found that we lost very little, and we gained more power in the major arc of the character. So, it was a pretty easy choice in the end.”

Doctor Strange arrives on Digital HD/3D and Disney Movies Anywhere on Feb. 14, and then hits Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, Digital SD, DVD, and VOD Feb. 28.

Would like to see Scott Adkins get his own TV show, where he plays a Cop who fights bad guys or maybe star in a Buddy Cop movie with Jason Statham.
Shame that your barely got to see him in Dr Strange.

Love his movies as they are the type of absurd but great fun action movies I grew up on

@TheNewGuy123 -

I just could not bring myself to watch that movie. Mainly because I find chavvy people like Sasha's character annoying in real life : )

I love how the atmosphere around his hands PULSATES as he creates and/or conjures the blade.

Bullshit. They cut the scene because it was too tense, maybe cause of the rating. Shame cause it was great.
