The Dr Strange Mid Credits Scene We Really Want

The Dr Strange Mid Credits Scene We Really Want

Never mind the legal battles, ownership rights, or even timelines or continuity. With the MCU entering a new phase, this would be amazing...

Ever since Sam Jackson appeared on our movie screens wearing the leather trench coat from his movie Shaft and an eye patch during the credits of Iron Man, comic book fans have been glued to our overpriced theatre seats after a movie for a sneak peak or hint of our upcoming CBM. Some have been huge reveals, others had our girlfriends mad at us the entire way home saying, "Why did you make me wait for fifteen minutes to see some guy I don't know open a suitcase that I don't know what's inside?" Marvel and DC both know that audiences have come to expect them and seem to put a lot of thought into what they show us after their films.

Now, Dr. Strange is almost here and I for one am eagerly waiting to watch what promises to be an exciting and very different comic book movie. No doubt Marvel Studios has a teaser or two planned to cap off their theatrical release. Chances are it will be a nod to the upcoming Infinity War, or will connect the Guardians of the Galaxy to the more common MCU characters. Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be entertaining. And hopefully longer than a few seconds so my date won't be so upset for waiting so long.

So this next scenario is legally impossible and an off the wall dream of a comic book fan, coming from a fan who is granted not the most versed Strange fan and has no idea how the movie will end:

Dr. Strange is going through a realm that isn't necessarily Hell, picture more of the waiting room at the end Beetlejuice. As he passes by we see Johnny Blaze AKA the Ghost Rider sitting on a couch wearing his classic leather jacket and skull flaming. He's shaking his head and fidgeting with his flaming chain obviously annoyed.

The camera pans over and we see the Merc with a Mouth, Wade Wilson, chasing around lady Death and trying to dance with her only to be repeatedly slapped across his face. Wade, undeterred, is having a blast and makes a few jabs at the Ghost Rider who just shakes his head and says, "What the F*#$, how many times I gotta kill ya before you just die?"

What you guys n gals think?? What would you like to see in this or any future mid or post credit scene?

Meh. Maybe mid Credit scene with Legion to say the Universes are coming together. That not only does Infinity War change things but so does Legion.

I like this idea. You already stated that it's "off the wall", so even you know it's extreme. But I like it. It's fun and ties in some great characters. I like the light hearted nature of this idea. Something that made me happy to think of.
I look forward to whatever they decided to do for this scene.

A scene like this would have fans screaming like little girls at a Justin Beiber concert.

I love the idea! I think there are a couple of things on the horizon... Strange can absolutely open the doors to the other MCU universes. FF flopped, Xmen AoA severely underperformed, I mean seriously as good as DP was it should not make more then Xmen, and Fox needs to inject life beyond Deadpool and Wolverine into their X franchise. I think Strange can open that door by pulling in Surfer, Galactus and the FF. or something along those lines.

the other thing that can happen and what I really think WILL happen is that the end result of the Infinity Saga (we don't know the name of the second movie any more) will be something similar to the recent Secret Wars in Marvel... the multiverse will be combined. it's enormous, and difficult but if the studios are working together and astute enough to recognize Marvel just does it better, there's a good chance.

from a story stand point it can work, Strange crosses into the Foxverse establishing it's existance and the connection. maybe FF comes on board, maybe not (I think it's a matter of time till the get a Sonylike deal with that franchise) but Surfer and Galactus will appear before it's all said and done. the fallout from Infinity will be a fractured, connected multiverse, maybe United on one Battleworld... opening the door for AvX within the Secret Wars adaptation. this sounds crazy but if you think about it, Fox has nothing beyond Deadpool right now. Old Man Logan will hopefully be good but it's not going to approach the kind of money they really want to make. Spiderman Homecoming is all but guaranteed 800 million (and will probably hit 1 billion), that has to beach the goal for studios with these movies. Fox has to be looking at that as an option. it doesn't have to be permanent, Legion, or Strange, or an Infinity Stone, or the Beyonder, or any of 100 tropes, can put things back the way they were after a 2 or 3 movie mega event.

the thing is, this would be wild speculation if it wasn't for 1. the Spiderman deal
2. the total loss that's been the Fantastic Four movies
3. the struggle of Age of Apocalypse.
there's precedent and there's alot of money to be made. and keep in mind, Justice League is the sleeping giant, Marvel is going to want to stay ahead of them and getting to a multiverse story first would be huge. And Fox would do well to just follow along.

@sikwon - great points. I have no idea if Dr Strange is going to be good or not. I'm thinking it will be, but one thing for sure is that it is definitely taking the MCU in a very exciting direction. Guardians made the universe bigger and interstellar where the avengers only hinted at. With the mystical and magic being brought it there are so many possibilities.

Somewhat related, are you a Moon Knight fan? I've been meaning to get into his books, had his CivilWar tie ins back in 06 but don't know where to start???
