A Perfect Path for a DCCU

A Perfect Path for a DCCU

It's a little far-fetched, but I think that this is the perfect plan for DC's cinematic universe.

This is my first article, so, here I go.

Not incorporating Arrow and the Flash tv show would be wasted opportunities for Warner Bros and DC Comics. I am a major fan of Arrow and am expecting great things from Flash (my favorite) so I sat down and thought and came up with this idea. It is still unknown whether or not the CW's tv shows will be connected or not, but the most important thing to consider is timelines.

As far as they go in my mind, most of Arrow so far could have easily taken place a year or a few before Man of Steel and Arrow as a whole could be a precursor to MOS. Around the time of Man of Steel, Oliver is perhaps taking a break or has told himself he's done with the hood. Flash could be injured or something along those lines making him unable to help with Zod and friends. Post-Kryptonian Invasion, Oliver puts back on the hood just like Bats in TDKR, and is now respected, adopting the name Green Arrow.

Now, with BvS, it has been rumored that the film will take place a few years after MOS, if I am not mistaken, so this could open up a chance to fix the "No Grant Gustin in a movie" problem. At this point in time, Barry could have passed the mantle down to Wally, and a big name actor would take over the role in future Flash films after BvS.

Hopefully, you've been following me up to here. So, this leaves us after BvS with an older and seasoned Oliver now known as Green Arrow existing on tv but referenced in film, a brand new Wally West ready to become the fan favorite we all know he can be, and the already existing Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman from BvS. After the addition of Green Lantern, this has Justice League potential. I could keep ranting on this idea, but the farther into the future, the more far-fetched and out there this ill become.

My last idea to all of this is that for Wonder Woman, give her a solo movie after BvS, but perhaps also give her a tv show origin story on CW. The tv shows are not terrible ideas for origin stories and b-list heroes and they are a missed opportunity if not taken advantage of. Especially for origin stories, you can have so much more character development and maybe the effects won't be top notch, but that's why it would only be origin stories and b-listers. As for Batman, it's time for a Bat-Family movie and not just Bruce going solo.

Well, that's all. I hope it was a good read, please no hate. Comment what you think thought, all opinions are welcome :)

Why would oliver be anywhere near the invasion? It's not like he can fight kryptonians in any way. Flash could've been there but moved so fast that he wasn't seen or he was simply in another part of the city away from Clark.

We already know that Arrow and The Flash are connected. As far as the other DC shows that are in the works at the CW, who knows?
It would definitely be a mistake if a network broadcasting shows from the same universe didnt connect them.
As far as the connecting the cinematic and television universes? While it could be done, Arrow has just enough camp and teen-angst CW drama nonsense that I dont think it would translate well, nor does Amell have the necessary acting shops to stand with Cavill or Affleck.
Looking to the future, Im sure they could create some cohesiveness to the universes but there would have to be some considerations made as to how things translate differently from big to small screen.

@Omega I agree with thinking a big League would be cool, I just couldn't find a good edit to use

@Glider I only said that because a lot of people say he isn't movie material and won't be in a movie

The TV shows and the movies will not be connected. Great show but get over it. Gustin and Amell cannot stand next to Cavill and Affleck. Simple as that.

The first JL team will be Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and The Flash. If its an invasion story then they can bring in Cyborg like they did on JL War. On the sequel they can bring in Aquaman as they adapt the Throne of Atlantis storyline. Finally on the last film, they can bring in Green Arrow, Hawkman, Shazam, Static, Nightwing, Firestorm etc. Or they can bring in Martian Manhunter as a reaction to the White Martians invading earth. Or they can just let Martian Manhunter join the government runned Justice League of America.

I would connect arrow to the DCU but not until the big seven have already shown up on the team. No offence to Green Arrow but I always considered him a back up to big seven, a cool character and one of my favorite heroes but a back up nonetheless. And yes, I would use Gustin as the DCU's Flash. He did an awesome job while he was on arrow.

Finally an article worth commenting on. I think these are great theories. and an excellent way to combine both series. I agree with the Flash and Arrow actually taking place before the arrival of Superman. And have them aged or pass the mantle is a damn good idea. That way the characters wont have to take up screen time being introduced. Before the shows are taken off of the air they could do a tie in without actually having anyone from the movie on the show. Just like they are going to do with the Gotham movie. it will take place before Batman and give us what made thecharacter who we will see on the big screen. excellent editorial and man it would be genius if they did that

Connect Flash and Green Arrow-yes. Use this idea-no, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, and no. Just no. I'm sorry, but the idea is stupid. Having these shows be that much earlier would just be confusing. The connection is easy. At the end of this season of Arrow, or sometime next year in both shows, show the Zod message on their computers. Oliver would never seriously consider intervening, anymore than he tries to stop crime in other cities. And Barry would either not have come out of the coma yet, or only have limited experience with his powers, too limited to try to help. But being aware that Superman exists will stay in both of their minds. And Gustin would be fine in a movie. I don't really think Arrow should join Justice League though. I just want the show to acknowledge that these other heroes exist.

I once wrote a draft for a Justice League fanfic - just for fun of course. Nothing too serious, as it was loosely based off of Star Wars. We're talking character inserts, just to get a feel for some character interaction, what they should do, what they should never do, what looks good, what doesn't.

I had a Phantom Menace type filled out.
Green Arrow - Obi-Wan
Abin Sur - Qui-Gon
Hal Jordan - Anakin
Carol Ferris - Padme
Intergang - Trade Federation
"Libra" (really Despero) - Palpatine/Sidious
Justice League - already established group
Green Lanterns - Jedi Order
I uh.... heh, yeah, it was fun to make.

Why are people so against the idea of multiple universes? You'd think that comic book fans would be used to the concept.

I think it could work. I mean crossovers are the craze right now but The Justice League film has to be bigger, sophisticated and sleek. If the Justice League where to look or feel cheap the film would have it's downfall. Also establishing strong villains and a solid plot would be a huge factor too. I also would not mind updating a few characters too.
