Fan Cast: STAR WARS (ANIMATED)

Fan Cast: STAR WARS (ANIMATED)

Ever wondered what happened during those years after "A New Hope" and before "Empire Strikes Back"? Well...I do.

I know some people don't watch animations and that's fine...but I myself will watch animations (or cartoons as other people call them) depending on they are.

Shows that are meant for adults? I watch them. Shows that are meant for kids AND adults? I watch them. Shows that are meant for kids only? I do NOT watch them.

Okay, Now that I've made that clear...

I've always imagined a Star Wars series set between Episodes 4 & 5.  If you didn't know: Empire Strikes back was set three years after A New Hope.

Seeing how Revenge of the Sith was set three years after Attack of the Clones, I'm thinking there is a possibilty for a Star Wars series involving the O.T cast. Because as most of you know, Star Wars: The Clone Wars animation series was set during the three years between Attack of the Clones & Revenge of the Sith.

Animation Style: 2D Avatar Style

While I liked the CGI in Clone Wars (particulary in the 4th & 5th season), I would really love to see Star Wars done in 2D.

In a lot of ways 2D seems a bit smoother than CGI, and it seems like they might be able to do more visual wise than with 3D.

What I loved about Avatar is how they combined many different styles. They used 2D animation, but they would mix it with 2D Anime.

Avatar's fight scenes are awesome in most part because of the animation. So just imagine Star Wars fight scenes with that type of animation.

I'm going to cast the prominent recurring characters and I'll post a video for each voice actor, in case you don't recognize them.

Josh Keaton as the voice of Luke Skywalker

Troy Baker as the voice of Han Solo

Susan Eisenberg as the voice of Leia Organa

Keith David as the voice of Darth Vader

Mark Hamill as the voice of Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious

What do you guys think? Like it? Love it?, Hate it? or Just Meh? Comment below in the usual place with your thoughts.

Great cast, man. Genius having Keith David as Darth Vader. I'd watch this.

@ndwwrestler2 No prob. Also I think Maurice LaMarche would make a good Obi-Wan. Or ghost Obi-Wan.

@V8ER I've thought about that. It would have to Obi-Wan via flashbacks. I think Empire Strikes Back is the first time Luke was supposed to see Obi-Wan in that form (I could be wrong about that though). But that's not a bad choice for an old Ben.

Oh ok. Yeah that makes sense.

@TheReddestHood Yeah, I mean he's done some voicework in Rio. But an animated series? I'm not sure if that would work.

Not saying it's a bad pick though.

Wow Hamill as the Emperor….

You should cast some more supporting characters though like C3P0, Wedge Antillies and my personal favorite, Admiral Ackbar.

@breakneckbeck Thanks for the comment. I thought I would do well to just cast the main characters.

Anthony Daniels and Tom Kane were my two choices for C-3P0, I tried to think of someone outside those two, and it just wasn't working out. Although I believe if they were to cast C-3P) in a series, they would just go ahead and cast Anthony Daniels.

Honestly I wasn't sure if Wedge was an important enough character to cast, but if he were to be cast, I would probably choose Steve Blum to voice him .

I don't even know what to do with Ackbar, but it would be cool to see him in animated form.

I like Hamill as Palpatine. Both his Joker and Skips (from Regular Show, if you ever watched it) have hints of Palpatine in them.

However, I kind like Dave Filoni's choice too. After Ian Abercrombie passed away before season 5 finished, Filoni replaced him with veteran actor and voice actor Tim Curry. While skeptic at first, I was shocked at how GOOD he actually was. Watch the netflix-exclusive sixth season. He doesn't play it like a typical, over-the-top, flamboyant Tim Curry villain. He's subtle, pulled back, and actually terrifying.

Also, I like David as Vader. Listen to the voice actor on The Force Unleashed. All voice actors try to copy what James Earl Jones did. I feel like Keith David would try to "feel" like Jones while really making the role his own...if that makes any sense.

@MCott I thought Tim Curry was great as Palpatine. I thought Hamill might fit better with the rest of this cast. But Curry would definitely be my 2nd choice, no doubt about that.

I thought Sloan did do a great job. But I do feel like Keith would make Vader his own thing, we most definitely agree on that.
