My Fancast For Who I Would Like To See Oncreen With The New Batman

With Batman and Alfred having been cast, I am putting together a cast of who I would like to see in supporting roles in the new Batman movies. I am not doing fellow Justice League members or recasting already cast roles. Just characters and actors that would mainly exist in the Batman universe

Selina kyle – Carla Gugino

One of the most beautiful actresses currently. I very talented actress who has experience playing the femme fatale as well as experience working with Snyder. She has a body that would look incredible in the tight leather or latex that would be used for the suit. And is at an age where it would be believable that she and Bruce have been playing their game of cat and mouse for years.

Commissioner Gordon – Michael Biehn

He doesn't have the exact look of Commisioner Gordon from the comics, but he is a phenomenal actor. To me, he has the look of a worn out crime fighter who still wants to go one more round. To me that is who Gordon has always been.

Riddler – Damian Lewis

Damian Lewis is one of the best actors working today. He could fit into just about any role you give him. I went back and forth with him as the Riddler and Joker and finally settled on the Riddler because I think he could perfectly play the smooth talking and eloquent version of the Riddler as well as the unhinged crazy Riddler.

Jason Isaacs – Mr Freeze

Isaacs is just a great actor. He could play a great villain in his sleep. He would own this role and forever wash the tainted image of Arnold as Mr Freeze from our collective memories.

Woody Harrelson – Hugo Strange

I love Woody Harrelson and think he could absolutely own this role. He plays likeable and smart, as well as crazy and weird with equal ability. He would fit into this role perfectly. I know Robin Williams was always the dream cast for this role, but with that no longer an option I think Woody is the best man for the job.

Barbara Gordon/Batgirl – Jane Levy

A beautiful young actress. Actually has red hair and with Emma Stone already being part of the Marvel family, I went with her twin for the DC family.

Harvey Dent – Karl Urban

Urban was my choice to originally take up the mantle as the new Batman, but since that is not a possibility I thought he could play a great Harvey Dent. He is a handsome guy, and can be charismatic and can play a very good villain. He vanishes into any role he is given and would be a great Dent.

Joker – Timothy Olyphant

Olyphant is a wildly underrated actor. Just watch Justified and you will see how great an actor he really is. He has a perfect look to play a villain. His personality and facial expressions are perfect for portraying someone who is both charismatic and crazy.

Dr Crane – Jason Lee

Lee is a guy who plays a lot of comedic and quirky characters. I thought his look is good for someone who is intelligent, and his acting ability and quirkiness would make a great Dr Crane.

Pamela Eisley – Jessica Chastain

Does this really explanation? She is beautiful, a very talented actress and would absolutely own the part. She is on record as saying she wants to play a comic role and not be the token love interest. As Poison Ivy, she could play a fun villain and be part of the action and not be relegated to girlfriend status.

Zatanna – Sarah Shahi
Sarah Shahi is a beautiful actress with a lot of talent. She would easily fit into this part and look incredible in costume.

Vicky Vale – Charlize Theron

One of the best and most beautiful actresses working today. She could easily play the beautiful girlfriend as well as the spunky reporter.

Dick Grayson/Nightwing – Tyler Hoechlin

I know he was a lot of people's choice to be the new Batman. With that in mind and after seeing his work on Teen Wolf, I think he could play a great Nightwing. He has the look and the physicallity to play the part, and is charismatic enough that if a solo Nightwing movie were to be made he could carry the movie.

Good list. I think Gugino is too old for Catwoman though. They should get someone still in her 30's at the oldest.

Loving it all but Nightwing. Excellent job. I actually chose the same Gordon in my '05/'06 Batman reboot

I admit that I like Biehn as Gordon, but I can't see Lee as the Scarecrow or Harrelson as Strange.

Anyway, can you check out my 52 and Batman casts?

Think Michael Biehn would be an excellent Gordon.

Check out my Terminator Reboot Fancast which also has Michael Biehn in it.

Everyone sounds good except for Timothy Olyphant as the Joker. I just don't see it at all. He is a good actor, but his menace ability doesn't scream Joker to me.

Not bad. Nothing there that I'd be disappointed to see, at least. Though I would put Woody Harrelson as Mr. Freeze, I think. He can be physically intimidating, and has shown a propensity toward a vulcanic temper in several past roles.
I think giving him the chance to stretch and play a character who is intellectually dynamic could work out well for him, since - despite his obvious talent - he always gets pigeonholed into playing idiots/fools/men ruled by passion instead of intellect. I think he could put a unique stamp on the role, and make it memorable.

Ah, sorry for double-posting, but I wanted to add that Olyphant I'm not sure of exactly either. He's a very good actor but I see his ability to play anger and sociopathy in more of a cold way, and less flamboyant; as seen in Deadwood. I think he'd make a phenomenal Lex Luthor though. Aw well.

Awesome cast.

I still prefer Andrew Scott or Joe Gilgun for Mr.J though.

I knew Joker wouldn't be universally liked. I just think facially and demeanor that Olyphant could look like a true psycho. I also think he has the acting chops to play unhinged very well.
