The Good guys of the Superman Reboot...

Superman- Armie Hammer, I know he was supposed to be Batman in the Justice League film a couple years back, but I think he has the look of Superman. He's 24 years old (which means he could do many more films as Superman) and he's 6 foot 5 in my opinion the perfect height for Superman. He has the voice for Superman and i hear he is a good enough actor.

Lois Lane- Erica Durance, I know people don't want anybody from Smallville being in the reboot but in my opinion she is the best actress to play Lois Lane.

Jimmy Olsen- Anton Yelchin, is the perfect choice for Jimmy Olsen, he has the acting chops to be on the screen with anyone. He is 21 years old and he 5 foot 9.

Perry White- Jeremy Piven, watching Jeremy on Entourage, I can definitely see him playing Perry White. He is a great actor, I have no doubt in my mind that he would be great. He is only 45 years old which would give him many opportunties to keep playing him in the future.

Jonathan Kent- Jon Voight, a great actor that could pull off Jonathan Kent. He is pretty old but he will most likely die in the movie anyways.

Martha Kent- Helen Mirren, great actress, who can play any role she is given, and you all know how much Chris Nolan loves his British actors.

Erica Durance is the perfect Lois Lane!
Armie Hammer's acting just doesn't cut it for me as a leading role. In all honesty DC should just translate Smallville into a film, I know its a fanboy's dream but lets look at the positives for Warner Bros.:

1. This allows them to skip all origin stories which is advantageous considering the current Superman legal issues.

2. A complete cast with actors who have proved they can play their 'part' and that's what matters even if they have low film cred (which may have just been caused by their degree of loyalty to Smallville).

3. Lets be realistic here, a major reason for our lack of acceptance for Superman Returns was because most fans already have their own Clark Kent, who they view regularly and convincingly every week.

4. New audiences: No matter who plays Superman he WILL be new to the audience. Whether its Tom Welling or Armie Hammer, he will be a new introduction to the wider audience. So why NOT Welling? If he wasn't on Smallville, wouldn't we have found him and pledged for him?

5. Chemistry: Smallville's Lois and Clark have better chemistry than the Lois and Clark in the comic books, enough said.

6. Green Arrow casted: So? Warner Bros already had a Green Arrow film in the works that didn't pan out so that isn't their priority. However if you take the 'SuperMax' plot and place Smallville's Green Arrow in it, it would actually make sense. Why? because whether its Justin Hartley or Matt Damon, Green Arrow WILL be a new character to the audience. So ask yourself, why not?

With the Smallville cast in place for the new Superman, DC will be able to make millions. Look at films like 'Sex and the City' jump into the film business from TV and make millions world wide, how does THAT cast do it? Who (apart from a closed age group of women) watched that show?? Smallville is watched by a wide age and gender range.

They already tried a new cast, a new story, and a new world. Let's try it the easier way this time.

Smallville Sucks and has for quite a while, not nearly enough people watch it to confuse anyone by having a new cast for the film. Realistically Chris Nolan is not going to hire C List TV talent to star in his Superman film, so forget Tom Welling already, when the 10th season of Smallville ends so does his career as Superman.

I’m not sure Armie is ready for prime time yet.

I like Durance, but no Smallville cast member is going to be put in this film.

Yelchin works for Jimmy.

Piven is too young and way too smarmy to play Perry, the guy has integrity, Piven doesn’t project that.

Voight is not a bad choice for Pa.

Mirren still seems to urbane to be Ma Kent to me. I still
stick with Spacek for that role.

Overall not a bad cast, I’m just not feeling it.

They need to go with a 30 year-oldish Superman. Hammer is too young and really doesn't look much like Superman. He does have the stature though.

Not bad. But the actual 'perfect' height for Superman is 6'3", the same as both Routh and Welling. Nevermind his age, he doesn't look that much like Superman. But Anton Yelchin can work. Helen Mirren is also interesting. As for the rest, no opinion.

"...he doesn't look that much like Superman." What? He looks like a younger version of that Alex Ross Superman picture. If Clark becomes Superman at the end of the first act and is based off Bryne's Man of Steel as rumored any actor over 30 right now is too old. This comes out Christmas 2012.

@NERO Hammer just finished working with David Fincher. Prime time enough?
