I think I can speak for many people when I say I REALLY WANNA SEE THANOS WIELD THE INFINITY GAUNTLET. However if stuck to the source material The Avengers would be dead in less than a second. And even Thanos trying to make it possible for them to win would be counter productive. So I as well as many on this sight have said they would need to lower the power of the gauntlet for it to be possible for the Avengers to win.
So if the power gems aren't infinant in power a new name in my head would be appropriate. Maybe "Odin's Power Gauntlet" would work. So what exactly can these gems do? Well lets find out...
SOUL GEM: Gives user ability to manipulate, control, steal, and alter souls of living and dead. And is a gateway to a pocket universe. It has a sentient hunger for souls.
So how could this be used in a movie? Well maybe the Soul Gem would just be able to resurrect the dead. Plain and simple. Sound good? Lets go on.
TIME GEM: Gives user the ability complete control over the past, present, and future. Allows for time travel and can age and de-age beings. Grants full omniscience.
So how could this be used in a movie? Well I'm thinking the ability to freeze time and maybe de-age beings too.
SPACE GEM: Gives user the ability to exsist anywhere and move any object anywhere through reality and rearrange space. Grants full omnipresence.
So how could this work in a movie? Well maybe like the Tesseract it can open portals into space or wherever the desired place is. Or instantaneous teleportation.
MIND GEM: Gives user the ablility to greatly inhance his/her mental and psionic power[if not already having that power]. Gives access to the thought and dreams of other beings.
Now we've seen this before we all believe. The mind gem is blue. Which is the color of the orb in Loki's spear/septor whatever. If knocked on the head hard enough the mind control will wear off.
REALITY GEM: Allows user the ability to fulfill wishes, even if contradictory to scientific laws.
I would guess minor control over reality. Can make things appear.
POWER GEM: Gives user the ability power over all energy that has or ever will exsist. Can booast the power of the other infinity gems. Can duplicate any superhuman ability and become invincible.
How could this work in a movie. I would suspect ability to manipulate energy. And somewhat increase abilities already maintained.
Well hopefully we can see something like this in a future Avengers movie. What do you guys think? Did I overshoot here? Are there other ways to make it possible for whoever has the gauntlet to be threat but not unbeatable?
