As the end of our CBM summer comes to a close we all start to envision what we could be seeing for the better good of the franchises in the coming year. Of those, the best will be saved for last. Superman: The Man of Steel. Now of the JLA heroes that we currently have on film we have Nolan’s Batman (which, in my opinion could certainly work for a JLA film) Green Lantern and Superman in December. This is the road I would take in leading towards a JLA movie with current lead actors BALE, REYNOLDS, CAVILL. Of course, where there is no Cavill, there’s certainly still a Routh.

Finally, sign off below with your thoughts on my take of how this could all be cemented together. Tried as I did to make sure that they were all introduced in a fashion that would conform to the Comics, I hope that it appeals to you…the geeks.

Superman cameo or Easter egg in TDKR:

Kryptonite is introduced to Bruce Wayne through L. FOX. Wayne Industries receives a package from LuthorCorp with Kryptonite in it in an attempt to do business, to have it weaponized...Luthor wont elaborate on the origin of the rock.

MMH cameo in Superman MOS: Martian Man Hunter meeting with Jor El. Before Krypton's destruction, Jor-El asked(s) the Martian Man Hunter to watch over his son, Kal-El, but from a distance all along, ever since Kal-El first landed on Earth. Martian Manhunter doesnt need his own movie but a cameo of this sort would be sweet.

Green Lantern(Hal Jordan= Reynolds)cameo in the new Flash film:

Flash is traveling at high speeds around the world and suddenly sees a figure of Green luminescence taking form in the distance …of course it is in slow motion to the Flash since he is traveling at such high speeds. He has no idea what it is so he calls it a "Green Borealis" (northern lights) and keeps running…then realizes he was in California.

Perhaps in GL2 there can be a sequence where GL is forming the said “figure of Green luminescence” perhaps it’s a wormhole that GL constructs in order to transport an enemy across the other side of the galaxy…..and in the distance you see a trail of Red streak across the ground. GL goes to follow it but he cant keep up so he turns to confront another enemy. It’s a stretch but this makes it fun and relatable and ‘continuity is a magical thing’.

Guy Gardner to cameo in Green Lantern 2:

Of course GL2 is supposed to follow more closely the development of animosity between Siniestro and the rest of the Corp. Hopefully it is a more intergalactic film. Towards the end, Hal is incapacitated and 'its revealed that there were two individuals matching the specified criteria on Earth, the other being Guy Gardner, and the ring chose Jordan solely because of his proximity to Abin Sur. Gardner then became listed as Hal's "backup", in case there was an instance in which Jordan was unavailable or otherwise incapacitated.'

I think that introducing a new Green Lantern in the 2nd movie is the best way to go.

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Lantern

Aquaman to cameo or be referenced in the new Wonder Woman movie:

I am not really sure how I would do this. I believe that Wonder Woman should be brought to the silver screen along the same lines as THOR was. It needs to be an origin story (as all first films should be) where most if not all of the movie takes place on Themyscira. I think it should be reminiscent of the WB animated feature and towards the end of course she travels to the US and settles in D.C. where she has connections through Steve to become an agent of the US government. While traveling to the mainland Steve could make a comment to Diana saying “I don’t understand how I crash landed on an invisible island filled with beautiful women – no wonder its not on the map…its not even on the grid”. Wonder Woman responds with a smile “True, it could have been much worse for you in Atlantis”. At which Trevor replies “Atlantis”?

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest:

Need I say more? Yes! In my mind a ‘World’s Finest’ Movie is essential to the development of a JLA grand finale. There simply is not enough time in a movie to fit in the discovery and relationship (laugh as you may) between the two….so what is my solution? Here I will express briefly once again the direction that should be taken in regards to a JLA grand finale. JLA should be a three part series the likes of LOTR. So, the first of the three movies could be JLA: Worlds' Finest; followed by JLA: Crisis and finally; JLA: Mortal.

For more information on this, however, I will divert your attention to a previous article that I posted a few months back (in case you missed it).

this really well thought out, good job man.

I just wish DC would get their act together and do what Marvel is doing. A unified JLA movie would be awesome. I just wish they would recast Hal Jordan. Reynolds was just their attempt at using a well liked actor to draw in audiences, since GL isn't exactly well known outside comic fans.

@corndogburglar. Yeah ...thanks for commenting...it did take a bit to lay out on paper but i think that GL shouldnt be rebooted....i did like the UNiverse they created for him ....GL could have been better but it wasnt horrible. I hope that WB can just move forward with a better script and give us some contiuity...after all there are more than one green lantern within the human race and reynolds really doesnt need to last past the second film...IMO.

Yes DC should follow Marvel's example by having a big build up to the JLA movie by having cameos for heroes to show up in other heroes's movies

I'm sorry but you guys actually want DC to FOLLOW Marvel?

Sorry but I'd rather DC set their own framework. As a DC-fanboy I'd hate to see DC stoop so low as to following their competitor's strategy instead of trying out something new. Something that could enable them to really leave their own mark on the CBM genre.

I think DC's gameplan COULD work. The whole idea of solo superhero films they don't have to lead DIRECTLY into a JLA film. I think instead they should build it up to a World's Finest film first...that would mark the FIRST ever interaction between Superman and Batman on the big screen, that film could end with them both being invited by Martian Manhunter or whatever to "join a team that fights for the greater good"

Something to that extent. That way, fans who've waited for a World's Finest film are happy and those who've wanted a JLA team-up film are happy.

Everyone is happy. And it's sort of a different way to go about it than what Marvel did. Because instead of just leading up directly to a large team film, it would go from solo films, to World's Finest film then topping it off with JLA film...which could then spin off into more solo films for other JLA members- WW, Flash, Martian, Aquaman etc-

That way DC aint full-on copying Marvel.

Oh and I agree- keep the same actors. Henry Cavill, Christian Bale and Ryan Reynolds for JLA.

PERIOD.

Bale won't do it and Reynolds wasn't good enough for a sequel let alone JLA. Why then should an unproven Cavill be granted the role sight unseen?! If he nails it, then green light him, but at least WAIT to see IF he does that BEFORE saying things like, "keep the same actors." If MOS sucks, like I expect, then [frick] Cavill. PERIOD!
