This "The Matrix" fan theory will change the way you view the human resistance

A recently published fan theory attempts to explain the reasons behind the emergence of people who reject the programmed reality of the matrix. Hit the jump and see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

The matrix is one of those iconic movies that, although it was released well over 16 years ago, it still remains fresh in the minds of those who have seen it. There have been a number of theories covering topics ranging from whether Neo is the one to whether we are actually living inside The matrix ourselves.

This theory states that what if the reasons why the resistance exists is because of the unique psychology of individuals who reject the world around them.

It states :    "The people who are more likely to suspect that there is something amiss with the world must have a latent ability to do something which other people cannot. For this reason, is it not possible that the people who end up rebelling and trying to get out of the Matrix are those with psychological pathologies? Those who will more likely be more paranoid of the world, distrust the authorities and try to escape from the reality that they deem to be fake. These pathologies could have a genetic link which the machines would want to purge"

It's an interesting take on the whole Matrix saga and it does raise a few interesting questions about Neo himself in terms of his psychological profile as well.

"The One is a special case as he has such a severe psychological pathology that he can do what the others can’t. He believes in the prophecies, the powers and in what he has been told that he can do to such an extent that he can do what is deemed to be impossible when he is inside The Matrix."

I think it has potential as a fan theory and can be expanded upon in various ways.

I still don't get how he was able to take out those squids in the real world! Plus the sequels would have been better if they didn't jump up their own ass!
