Arnold Schwarzenegger Offers TERMINATOR 5 And THE LEGEND OF CONAN Updates

The legendary actor talks briefly about the status of both the long talked fifth instalment in the Terminator franchise and promises that he is indeed still involved with Universal's follow-up to the original 1982 movie, The Legend of Conan. Hit the jump for details!

The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day are rightly considered classics, which made it all the more disappointing when Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines was a critical flop. Arnold Schwarzenegger would sit out Terminator Salvation, appearing only as a CGI creation. However, the former Governor of California is expected to fully reprise the role which helped to make him a household name in the fifth instalment of the franchise which has seemingly been stuck in development hell for a number of years now. However, Yahoo! Movies says that the actor recently confirmed in an interview that, "We're writing it now," before adding, "There are three projects being written that involve me. One is Terminator 5, the other is a Conan movie that Universal is doing and there's the sequel to Twins, which is called Triplets. We'll all look quite different in that. The third triplet is Eddie Murphy, so figure that one out." Which of these iconic roles are you guys most excited to see Schwarzenegger reprise? Sound off in the usual place!

I'm kinda pissed he's gonna play Conan again although the prospect of a fifth Terminator film has me excited so long as they don't retcon any of the other films which I'm sure they will

Arnold can portray an older King Conan,it's actually could be very cool.
In books Conan has a son named Conn,just find actor to fill that role so Arnold doesn't have to do all the killing.

Can't conceive an "old" Terminator..does not make sense.
Hell No to Twins sequel,Triplets sounds weak.

To all Arnold haters..Eat A Dick!
That dude made some of the best action movies of all time..Conan,Terminator,Predator,Commando,Running Man,True Lies,list goes on.

I like The Rock,Jason Statham & Vin Diesel for example,so far those guys have not come close to Arnie's action film legacy.

The fact that Kyle Reese isn't insta-killed on sight, when the terminators find him is by itself the reason Terminator: Salvation is the worst out of the series. And this is without mentioning all the other nonsensical things that happened.

..i would love to see a sequel to last action hero!..it would be the perfect time to do a sequel and arnie making fun of himself again and the action showbiz from the first one till now^^...i def. would be fun!!!


mhh t5 ..mhh dont know yet...i couldnt enjoy the 3rd one cause the older looking t800(and of cause the script..better said the biiig fails insinde the terminator universe thats been done by the third movie)

I just can't see Arnold doing Conan again but, if they insist, here's some working titles:

Conan the Forgetful

If he's doing a sequel to Twins, he should do a sequel to True Lies.

They should just reboot Terminator, I hate the "Reboot" everything era but I would rather have that than another sequel. And Arnie could be in it just not as the Terminator, have Resse comeback to protect Sarah they go on the run from the robot, she goes to her fathers house for help (Arnie) who is a retired soldier & has a nice little stash of weapons. Arnie dies at the end & Resse gets badly injured which makes Sarah turn into a Badass for the sequel.

Hah, him and Eddie Murphy? Two has-beens teaming up for what I'm sure will be extraordinarily lame.

I really enjoyed Salvation as a whole. Yes, some weak areas but it was a refreshing change and I had always wanted to see the stuff happening in the "future."

But as things are now, anything with Arnold is a buzzkill for me and do not think he'll bring anything of interest to the world of cinema.

I agree, salvation gets a bad wrap. There are 3 scenes that come to mind w/ me hating that have McG written all over it: the Axe/bridge jump, the Helena Bohnam Carter screens, and the Moon Bloodgood intro scene. Besides that, I liked it a lot. Even the ending. I wish it would've stuck to what was leaked, but it seems they had to alter it and reshoot it because of the leak and all.

I'll always like the first Terminator the best, 'cause it was more of a horror movie, and when it first came out was cooler than hell.
I liked the other Terminator movies (was glad to see a naked female terminator appear for once).
Triplets could be funny, Twins had some great moments in it.
Conan as king could be great. Some of Robert E. Howard's best Conan stories were with him as king. Conan in his 60's could still kick anyone's ass.

Cameron needs to do more than just advise Arnold on how to approach T5. With the right script (which they haven't had since T2) and a good director the next movie in the franchise could kill.

Oh...and no one can convince me T4 was a good movie...no one. I watched the opening midnight showing and was completely let down...could have been so much better! What if they got Cameron to join T5? I bet that would get some attention.

I do not know why no one ever includes Conan the barbarian in the top comic book movies of all time. One of the best kick a$$ movies of all time. Arnold owns all your punk a$$es

I don't understand why the studios didn't make a sequel with the new Conan actor, Jason Momoa. His first movie was a good, solid pastiche to Robert E. Howard's yarns.
If anyone had ever read author Robert E. Howard's original Conan stories, they would see that Jason's intelligent and crafty Conan is closer to REH's pulp character than Arnold's bumbling, oafish, wide-eyed, fish-out-of-water version.
But then again, I guess most of the Arnold fans don't care about his acting.... they worship his body. And in the new movie his body will probably have to be completely CGI.

I agree about Momoa. Of all of the problems with the last Conan film, I don't believe that Momoa was one of them. His portrayal as Conan was more accurate to Howard's stories and description of the character. With better writers, a better director, and a more concerted effort, I believe that Conan could be a successful franchise with Momoa as the lead. Just my opinion, however, so the Schwarzamaniacs don't need to lose their collective shit.
