The awesome people at conanmovieblog.com have scaned two images of a badass Jason Momoa as Conan aswell as added and interview with Fredrick Malmberg.

"Nispel claims that Conan is a lifelong dream project, and with him at the helm we’re at least assured terrific visuals. Fears of a watered-down fantasy-adventure tone have also been laid to rest by producer Joe Gatta, who assured Empire that the Cimmerian barbarian is aiming his axe squarely at a visceral R rating."

"Conan’s Con presence will be decidedly multimedia,, as the crew from the online PC game Age of Conan will be attending in force, and Dark Horse will be handing out exclusive comics. Plus, “We might have one or two stars making a little appearance,” Conan Properties CEO Fredrik Malmberg reveals, “and we might be able to show some footage. It’s all about what (distributor) Lionsgate allow us to do!”"

Besides Momoa the film also stars Stephen Lang(Avatar), Rachel Nichols(G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra), Bob Sapp(Elektra), Rose McGowan(Machete), Said Taghmaoui(G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra), and Ron Perlman(Hellboy)

And below are some photos as Momoa in the title role.

Actually he looks even smaller. Conan is supposed to be [frick]ing huge.

sweetre15 - 7/10/2010, 6:41 PM
@SupahPhreak:Conan wasn't a steroidhead like Arnold in the Robert E. Howard stories, plus he's supposed to be extremely agile anyway.
leray93
leray93 - 7/10/2010, 6:49 PM
Yeah people always compare him to arnold and arnold was really nothing like Conan, at least that what I think
sweetre15
sweetre15 - 7/10/2010, 6:51 PM
@leray93: I know because Arnold played a muscleheaded drunk oaf when Conan is supposed to be an Agile teactician but not many people seem to bring that up,lol.

haha lol I always amazed people loved his preformance in Conan because he always seemed wrong for the role to me but i have never read the comics just the wiki pages lol

Yep, just like I said, Scrawny and too lean!
Momoa has a tall slim build 6'4", Conan has a
relatively tall wide build, around 6'2 and
"MASSIVE" like Robert E. Howard described him!

He should bulk up a little more. But not that much.

Conan should be agile IMO. But he does look the part,no doubt.

@DDD: But look at his physique on this cover of a Robert E. Howard book:

Which fits the agile physique they are going for.

Conan is agile, yes, but wide and massive too.

sweetre@ that illustration is ridiculous!
lol
sweetre15
sweetre15 - 7/10/2010, 7:37 PM
@DDD:Yes and that's because it's probably very old but it was on a cover of one of Robert E.Howard's books. He's muscular but several humans in the old Conan stories were said to have more bulk than him. Anyway,it's kinda hard to be both bulky and agile, lol.

DDD - 7/10/2010, 7:37 PM
Schwarzenegger@ looked the part very well but
his acting wasn't very good and they did make
Conan a bit too oafish!

But I would rather have someone who looks
impressive and can't act as good than someone
who is slim-build and can act.

But what's wrong with having both???
DDD
DDD - 7/10/2010, 7:42 PM
Wrestlers are both! They should have got
The Rock since they didn't care about
an ethnic guy playing an ancient Irishman.

I think Rock is a better actor than Momoa!
Momoa over-acts and is terribly hammy!
He should just stay on TV.

Before you say wrestlers can't act..What do
ya think wrestling is?

He looks great to me. People forget this dude is 6'4" and it's hard to gauge his size in these pictures. Remember when people said Hemsworth looked too small as Thor then ate their words when they saw him on film? How easily fanboys forget...

P.S. Arnold sucked and could never look that fierce. This is a truer Conan in my opinion.

DDD@ Slim....that just makes me bust a gut when you or others say that. I have dozens of guys in the gym I used to train that would have killed to have Momoa's "slim" build. ;-) I am 6'1" and 220 and no one would ever refer to me as slim.

Here's Howard's Conan. You posted a comic illustration. I will keep posting it as long as people keep saying Momoa doesn't have Conan's build. Yes, Conan was massive compared to the Picts and other sects of people existing in the Hyborian Age, but everything is relative. Considering how big you are DDD everyone would seem small to you. ;-) Actually Telfer is only a little larger in the trapezoid and biceps. Otherwise he isn't that much better built than Momoa. Momoa has the height advantage by a couple inches.

...and...no...someone of Arnold's bulk cannot be agile as well. Conan was large and agile...but not what I would consider bulky. Massive does not always equate to bulky.

"I go to the gym. roar. I can kick ass. I trained with REAL men. Lifting weights means I can fight. I am 6000 feet tall and I weigh 3000000lbs of PURE MUSCLE. I am bigger than him. That means I am tough"

Just giving an example on how [frick]in retarded you sound.

EBWOP: comparing a person from an artists imagination/translation is [frick]ing stupid.

I guess you were really angry that hugh jackman really wasn't 5 feet tall with 62 inch arms.

I HAVE GONE TO THE GYM AND WORKED OUT WITH GUYS WHO COULD KICK HIS ASS. ROAWR.

momoa looks like conan now
DDD

The Question@ I wasn't one of them who said
Hemsworth was too small. Hemsworth has a wide-
build. He can bulk up fast and did for Thor.
He looks exactly as I thought he would for Thor.

If you dyed Hemsworth's hair black he would make a perfect
Conan. There is no way Momoa is built like
Hemsworth.

Ranger@ that illustration you have there is
inaccurate. Conan is massive and there is no way massive is
Momoa's kind of build. My illustrations
I chose are of a massive Conan. That is more
accurate. I tend to go with the more massive
renditions like Howard described. Massive means
thick and wide not necessarily bulky. But Massive
doesn't mean tall and lean. Momoa is not Massive by any
stretch of the word!

Jojo Risin@ said it all:

"MOMOA SUCKS! TOO SCRAWNY! THIS IS BLASPHEMY!"
GUNSMITH

DDD
DDD - 7/11/2010, 3:06 AM
GUNSMITH@ Just because he has long hair and
a mean look doesn't make him Conan.

If anyone has seen the strong man contests on TV
they know that there is no way someone like
Momoa could compete. But Conan is described to
pick up a huge boulder like they do in those
competitions. No way could a guy with Momoa's
build ever do that! EVER!

DDD- Right next you on this matter brother. I know you throw the iron around as I, and this guy is just weak looking. He makes it look like Conan on a hunger strike. There were so many better choices to go with. Thank God Mikey Rourke pulled out of this joke of a film, it would have killed his comeback.
