Hate the American tendancy of designing swords with no pommel and huge quillons! Without a pommel the blade is massively unbalanced,heavy,and a bitch to use.And you don't need quillons that big.They're to stop your knuckles getting scraped,NOT for blocking your opponents sword.That's what the blade is for.Its why you wouldn't sharpen the bottom third of your blade.
That aside I'm REALLY looking forward to this movie! lol :)

Just stoped reading The Savage Sword of Conan albums and i gotta say that Momoa couldnt look more like Conan!

Perlman looks bad ass but cant really buy him as Momoa´s father! But thats just one picture! Maybe it looks better in the big screen!

Still kinda wish Rourke would have taked the role! That would have been perfect!

I'm digging most of the posters although the last two are just cheezy. Having converted to the Church of Momoa I'm hoping he can raise the level of this film to watchable.

As a side note, let's not get into the geometry of sword design since the majority of swords in film have no place on a battle field. If you want sword geometry read Ewart Oakeshott or Hank Reinhart NOT comicbookmovie.com

Your right, Franzetta never read the CONAN books, but I still think he's pretty close to Howard's descriptions. He's off by about 1" and 20-30lbs...that's not too bad.

I guess his skin tone could be a bit lighter, but he is supposed to be "bronzed", so again, not too far off. The main difference would be his facial structure, he should probably have more of a block headed look, similar to a football player, but let's be honest....Howard never really gave a definitive description of him. It was always a sentence here, and a sentence there.

He did describe hime as having the form and agility of a panther....Mamoa definitely fills that, and honestly after the Arnold movies, i'm glad it's not just some lumbering brute, but a dude who can move fast and is EXCELLENT with a sword.

Ranger should be in here shortly with more exact details. ;)
