Conan the Barbarian star Jason Momoa talked with the folks at denofgeeks recently while in the UK promoting Game of Thrones. Of course the opportunity to get some Conan information was too good to pass up.

On the possibility of a sequel to the upcoming Conan film...

Oh, yeah."

"There are sequels to everything. There's a Fast & Furious seven, isn't there? There's like four Pirates Of The Caribbean."

His thoughts on how the fans will respond to Conan The Barbarian...

"I got to see a rough cut, and people are going to be stoked. We're not remaking anything Arnold did. It's a totally new story. The same legendary character. We're taking these tons and tons of great Robert E Howard stories from the 30s, and combining a couple and bringing it to audiences in a way that's new and fresh."

Conan The Barbarian directed by Marcus Nispel and starring Jason Momoa, Rose McGowan, Ron Perlman, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang and Saïd Taghmaoui is slated for release this August.

@AlexDeLarge87:

I don't recall Khalar Zym in any of the stories I read. BUT... I read those stories 30+ years ago so I may have forgotten a villain or three.

Khalar Zym doesn't appear in any of the Conan stories by Robert E. Howard, nor any of the comics, nor any of the books by other authors. None of the characters in the upcoming film are. They were all created for the film.

Except for Conan, naturally.
