Warner Bros. announced today that the X-Man will star in director Joe Wright’s upcoming, yet-untitled live-action Peter Pan film. Jackman is set to play Blackbeard, the villain of this version of the story. (Jason Fuchs’ script casts Pan and Captain Hook as allies, at least initially.)

“There is a reason that Hugh is known and loved the world over,” Warner Bros. Pictures Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution president Sue Kroll said in a statement. “He is uncompromising in his dedication to every role, and we are all thrilled to be working with him again. » directly to [email protected])

He was connected to it a while back, but WB's now made it official with a press release.

I know that must be confusing to people around here, because when the last time WB ever actually confirmed someone was cast in one of their movies?

@SuperCat, that pic is funny considering the role of Jack Sparrow was written for Hugh before Disney said "no" and wanted a well known person for the role.

Then Depp just went and totally changed up the character to his own liking.

Better director? Uhhh.... Edgar Wright has made some of the greatest cult classics of the 21st century. Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim, etc. Joe Wright has only made the subtle arty films like The Soloist and Hanna... As far as box office, Ant-Man will be taking this home.
