For many viewers, Ismael Cruz Córdova proved to be one of the highlights of Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, bringing dignity and intensity to the role of Elven hero, Arondir.

The part is sure to have opened up a few more doors for the actor, and it sounds like a stint in the Marvel Cinematic Universe might be in his future. While speaking to Variety, Cordova revealed that Marvel Studios has been in touch about potentially bringing him on board: "I have a very good relationship with the Marvel casting directors.”

The Ray Donovan alum also noted that he was in the running to play Adam Warlock in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 before Will Poulter ultimately nabbed the gig.

“I really wanted that one, but Will Poulter looks amazing doing it so I’m not mad. But that was a hard one because I love that whole storyline.”

Cordova didn't mention any of the character he may or may not have spoken to the studio about, but if he had his pick, he'd be very interested in playing Hector Ayala, aka White Tiger.

“I think that’s just another character that’s just fantastic,” he says. “I love characters that are improbable heroes that are people that have got the worst deck dealt. That is my story. And I find that is many of our stories. And life is not just this little journey of redemption. How many of us were bullied? How many of us were poor? How many of us cast away? How many of our identities were something that you couldn’t be. A lot of us got cards that were a bad deck.”

If Cordova was to join the MCU, which character would you most like to see him suit-up as? Drop us a comment down below.

@bobevanz - If there is one tule about modern Hollywood, it is that every IP must be endlessly milked for content to the point of diluting the specialness of it.

@bobevanz - Not only the story is mediocre at best, but the gameplay is just boring and unoriginal, they tried to replicate the Styx games with Tolkien's lore.

Styx games are far better than this, and that's saying a lot.

Marvel
DC
Ghostbusters
Indiana Jones

@marvel72 - I actually enjoyed Afterlife and thought it honored the Ghostbusters legacy. But agree on all the others.

@marvel72 -

Very sad, but mostly true. Having seen the beginning of all of these great TV/movie series from the 60s thru the 90s makes me very sad for what they have become. Even the DC & Marvel comics I have read since the 60s have become so much worse over the last 15 years.

I have seen all of everything you mentioned except for Dr. Who. I am about to start binging all I can get of that this Summer.

He has that ethereal look for Adam, so it makes sense

Thankfully that didn’t happen. He’d just call the people who didn’t watch Vol 3 racist and make himself the victim. As a Puerto Rican he’s embarrasses me.

@AnthonyVonGeek - It was incredibly refreshing for GOTG3 to be the first MCU property in a long time where we didn’t have to have those tiring conversations. I can wait until the studios realize that the highest money makers over the past few years were free of social messaging and get Hollywood away from this nonsense.

@AnthonyVonGeek - yet somehow people would have been pissed off that a person of color is playing a GOLD skin colored character.

What storyline does he love? There were no traditional Adam Warlock stories in GOTG3. Seems like the typical actor comment where they pretend to be a bigger fan than they really are.

He looks way more like the character from the comics than the dude they got. Like a lot more.

I think Poulter is the better choice anyways.
