AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Actor Gabriel Luna Says A GHOST RIDER Spinoff Has Been Discussed At Marvel
Gabriel Luna's Robbie Reyes has been a definite highlight of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3, and from the sounds of things there is real potential for a Ghost Rider spinoff at some point down the line.
Fans were a bit skeptical when it was announced that we'd be getting a small-screen take on The Spirit of Vengeance for Marvel's flagship TV series, but as the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues, most would have to admit that Robbie Reyes has been a very successful addition to the show. In fact, many viewers would now like to see some sort of solo outing for the character, perhaps even on Netflix.
During an interview with Comicbook.com, actor Gabriel Luna confirmed that there have been conversations about a potential spinoff, though he doesn't elaborate further.
“It’s been talked about, there’s definitely deals in place for that potential. But I just take it one day at a time. I have so much fun now I just want to make sure I get these episodes right. If they throw more episodes on my plate, I will do my best to do well with those stories as well.”
Is it possible that Ghost Rider's popularity may even have Marvel kicking around the idea of integrating him into the larger MCU? Luna won't confirm or deny, but he does reveal which specific team-ups he'd most like to see:
“I think it’d be cool to see Blade, and The Punisher, and Strange and that whole Midnight Sons kind of run. And you have the Dark Avengers – you’ve got all these teams that The Ghost Rider slides into… I love that idea, that potential.”
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return with a new episode on November 29.
