GOTG VOL. 3 Will Be "Gamora And Nebula's Story" According To Howard The Duck Actor Seth Green

We still don't know a whole lot about the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but Seth Green - who has yet to confirm if he'll be back as Howard the Duck - has now given us a little more to go on...

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 actress Karen Gillan recently revealed that reading the script for the Marvel Studios threequel left her in floods of tears, and we may now have an inkling of what made the Gunpowder Milkshake star so emotional.

Howard the Duck voice actor Seth Green recently sat down for an interview with ComicBook.com, and although he wouldn't confirm or deny his involvement with Vol. 3, he did reveal a pretty major detail about the story.

"I don't know if Howard's a part of it, I haven't heard anything about that," Green responded when asked if he's set to reprise the role of the smartass water fowl. "The only thing I know is that it's the girls' story, it's the sisters' story, that it's Gamora and Nebula's story. So I don't know if it's a prequel, or if it comes off in the new timeline that's splintered post-the Time Heist. Honestly, I don't know anything about it."

Well, you do know that one pretty significant thing about it!

Director James Gunn has already dropped a few hints that Gamora would be a big part of the third movie, but it sounds like her relationship with her sister is going to be the main focus. The original Gamora was sacrificed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, and the version who'll be reintroduced in Vol. 3 killed her timeline's Nebula in Endgame.

So, it's probably safe to assume we can expect a unique dynamic between the characters we reconnect with in what has been confirmed as Gunn's final GOTG film.

We're sure the filmmaker will share more details soon, but for now, all we know for certain is that the core team will return for more intergalactic adventures, and there's a pretty good chance not all of 'em will make it to the end credits!

Gunn has said it would be a Rocket and Drax story as well in the past too. We would learn where Rocket comes from.

@BlackBeltJones - it's everyone's story...except the main character.

@Origame - The Guardians are the main characters... what do you mean? If you're talking about Peter he has his story in 1 and 2, nothing wrong with focusing on the other Guardians.

@FearTheLiving - he must be thinking of
Love and Thunder. “It’s THOR: Love and Thunder”

@FearTheLiving - I mean, not if you're talking about a trilogy. Which this has clearly been commented on as being from Gunn.

@Origame - Yes a trilogy... a trilogy that's focusing on the Guardians. Peter will no doubt have a part in this to play given we still don't know how he's doing post Gamora and with this new/old Gamora walking around but that doesn't mean the story has to focus on him. The movies are called Guardians of the Galaxy not Star Lord.

So he knows nothing about it, yet he does. Interesting.

Anyway, I feel both Volume 2 and even the last two Avengers movies did focus on it. Rather see Drax and Rocket's backstories explored.

@bkmeijer - same. We got the sister story in 2 films.

@bkmeijer - Same. I'd like to see at least glimpses of Rocket's backstory and if this is gonna be the end for Drax, I'd like for him to have some serious moments (doubtful) and get a good send off.
Bautista is a decent actor with pretty good comedic timing and delivery, but I feel they've undercut and under utilized him overall.

If they do kill him off, I hope we get a scene of him finding peace in the afterlife with his wife and daughter.

I’d say I’m disappointed it’s not rooted around Rocket and Groot..
feel like we already got the Gamora and Nebula stuff from GOTG2 , infinity war and endgame

"and the version who'll be reintroduced in Vol. 3 killed her timeline's Nebula in Endgame."

Just gotta point out, Nebula killed her other version from the 2014 timeline, not Gamora.

The guy voices an Easter Egg with less lines than Superman. I'll wait until a more involved castmember says something before speculating that it was Mephisto all along.

@Reeds2Much - "less lines than Superman".

Because Snyder barely gave Mopeyman any dialogue to in BVS and JL.

I feel like Rocket's story could and has been EASILY told in a flashback. Didn't they explain his existence in the first GotG? As a person who doesn't follow the GotG comics, is there more to him? Is there enough there to warrant an entire movie around him? I'm seriously asking. I don't know.
I feel like Drax is RIPE for a good story. And I could see him and Nebula dying in this movie. But I would SO be there for a juicy Drax story. Something that would allow Bautista to flex his dramatic chops.

How does Seth "know" this? From his comments regarding his character, it seems he hasn't read the script.

Wasn't the previous two movies their story.
