GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Star Dave Bautista Officially Retires From Wrestling After WRESTLEMANIA

At WrestleMania, Dave Bautista returned as Batista to square off with Triple H, and he's now taken to social media to announce his retirement from the world of professional wrestling. Check it out...

Last night, WWE held WrestleMania in New Jersey's MetLife Stadium and in one of the best matches of the night, Batista battled Triple H in a "No Holds Barred" match. It was a fun back and forth bout which saw the Guardians of the Galaxy star have his nose ring torn out at one point (well, not really, but you know!).

Ultimately, though, a distraction from Ric Flair saw the Hollywood star lose to The Game and he's now taken to Instagram to confirm that he's retiring from the sports entertainment business.

It makes sense for this to have been his final match, especially as he's so busy making movies these days (Bautista is expected to star in both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Suicide Squad), but it's cool that he got to go out on his own terms and perform for his fans one final time. It's quite a contrast to Dwayne Johnson, who has seemingly left The Rock behind but is constantly rumoured to return.

Regardless of your interest (or lack thereof) in pro wrestling, it's fair to say that Bautista has done an amazing job of making the leap from performing in that world to becoming a bona fide actor.

Good. Let his Acting career flourish, much better actor than the rock

@NotoriousWolf23 - Are you serious? Batista is a terrible actor. Rock isn't top tier either but he's gold compared to Batista.

@billnye69 - Nope. Batista is much better and actually cares to improve. As brief as his role was in Blade Runner 2049, there was a great sense of subtlety to his performance. He’ll keep growing, Rock will just grow bigger dollar signs.

@billnye69 - I like both, but I think Dave veri's his roles up a little more than The Rock. I mena, you know what you're getting with The Rock in any of his films. The only one time he really differentiated was in Be Cool. I feel dave has differentiated a bit more with his roles but that's me.

He’s a better actor anyway. Welcome home, Dave!
