GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Star Zoe Saldana Reveals A Comic Accurate Change To Gamora

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star Zoe Saldana has revealed a comic accurate change to Gamora's appearance in James Gunn's upcoming threequel that's bound to be welcomed by fans. Check it out here...

In Avengers: Infinity War, Gamora was thrown to her death by Thanos so he could acquire the Soul Stone. It was a devastating moment (that's been somewhat overshadowed by Black Widow's sacrifice), but time travel managed to bring her back. Well, sort of.

Avengers: Endgame saw the 2014 Gamora brought into the present day before she made her escape after turning on the Mad Titan. However, that Gamora hadn't met the Guardians yet, so the likes of Star-Lord and Rocket are strangers to her. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is obviously going to pick up on that in some way, and one key change has now been made to the hero.

Actress Zoe Saldana took to Instagram to reveal a behind-the-scenes photo that shows Gamora will now be rocking gold eyeshadow. What's the significance? Well, this is the first time we've seen this style in the MCU, and fans will know it brings her more in line with the Gamora from the comic books.

Ultimately, it's a relatively minor change, but one that is likely to be welcomed by many. This time-displaced Gamora is a Variant, leading fans to wonder why she hasn't been pruned by the TVA. We're guessing the events of Loki can be blamed for this, and wouldn't be surprised if Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 finds a way of explaining how she's been able to stick around, all while establishing her new place in the MCU (it's hard to picture her just falling back into Star-Lord's arms).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to blast into theaters on May 5, 2023.

@JermareCBM - The only difference in her Insta pic is the lighting, which is why her skin is practically neon green.

I wish that Gun had kept to the designs shown in the original concept art for GOTG, they were a lot more comic-accurate and more importantly interesting that the designs that we ended up with imo.
