Last night, Marvel Studios stole the show at the Super Bowl with a gorgeous new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Teasing big stakes and a powerful ending to James Gunn's trilogy, something tells us we'll need a hanky on hand when the threequel finally arrives in theaters.

A new gallery of stills has been released following that epic sneak peek, offering a closer look at Baby Rocket, Cosmo, The High Evolutionary, and the returning Gamora.

While she died in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame saw the hero's 2014 Variant brought into the present day. The rebirth of the Multiverse has likely helped Gamora avoid being pruned, but can Peter Quill get her to fall in love with him all over again?

Gunn's Guardians finale promises to be epic, and we know he won't be back for a fourth instalment now he's in charge of DC Studios and the DCU. Hopefully, this team's story will continue with a new filmmaker at the helm, with Gunn's next movie likely to be Superman: Legacy

Check out these new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stills below.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

Gunn writes and directs Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, and Maria Bakalova.

Kevin Feige is the producer and Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nikolas Korda, Simon Hatt, and Sara Smith serve as executive producers.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2023.

Judging from the trailer, Drax definitely dies to see his family again. Maybe Nebula, prolly Kraglin, I think that's it. Or they all kick the bucket to save the universe, I'm fine with that

@bobevanz - I think Drax dies. That feels obvious. Rocket leaves to be with his new female friend and finally find happiness. Peter lives. Gamora or Nebula sacrifices themself to save someone else. Groot lives.

Next GotG team will be Star Lord, Groot, Nebula or Gamora, Adam Warkock, and 2 nee characters.

@bobevanz - forgot about Kraglin. Could see him die as well, next to Quill, Drax, Nebula and Rocket.

@CorndogBurglar - think both nebula and gamora are safe, i think only one or two characters are dying. Drax is probably a safe bet to be one of them. Rocket is a misdirect

@bobevanz - They all might die and then jump ship to the DC Studios reboot.

@CorndogBurglar - really hoping we can see Bug, Phyla Vell and Vance Astro on the team at some point.

@CorndogBurglar - What about Mantis? I honestly feel like Bug and Moondragon could fill those two new spots, the two would be really cool to see on screen.

High Evolutionary better lose that skin mask at some point during the movie.

@DrReedRichards - He looks really bad in this, I'm not gonna lie.

@CorndogBurglar -

Agreed, it's a sour point in an otherwise delicious-looking movie.

@DrReedRichards - Oh, the movie looks awesome! But ever since that first picture we saw of him I knew they messed him up. He just doesn't feel imposing at all, and really just looks like a generic bad guy.

@CorndogBurglar - It’s not just the human face. That’s terrible. But why ANOTHER purple suited bad guy?

Gunn may be leaving Marvel with a big winner it appears. Too early to really tell of course, but this latest trailer has me more hyped than I ever have been for the first two films in the trilogy.

They all will die.

CorndogBurglar - 2/13/2023, 6:24 AM
@gtabreaker - I don't think so. Gunn always said the 3rd film would be the last time we saw this iteration of the team. But that doesnt mean some characters can't be on the next team.

I think Star Lord will stick around. Rocket will survive, but he may leave to go be with his little female friend. Drax is dead. And I think either Gamora or Nebula will sacrifice themselves to save someone else.

FilmGuy7878 - 2/13/2023, 9:10 AM
@CorndogBurglar - I doubt they are gonna kill off Gamora again after they just "resurrected" her (I know there's a lot more stuff to that but resurrecting is the simplest term I could use). I feel like Nebula is gonna sacrifice herself and Gamora will go on to have a love triangle with Peter and Richard Rider/Nova.

This trailer sure had some cool looking shots. But I guess that shouldn't surprise me, since the last one had a ton of them as well.

I think anyone who has to wear the extensive make-up will die or retire. All that can't be good for your skin... or patience.

Well shit.....IF we are creating a Dead Pool.....I got Nebula, Drax and Rocket dying.
