We learned that Peacemaker actor Chukwudi Iwuji had joined the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 last year when director James Gunn shared a behind-the-scenes photo to mark the start of production, but we still don't know who he'll play in the Marvel Studios threequel.
Rumors have swirled that he'll portray the High Evolutionary, and there's also been speculation that he'll appear as the Silver Surfer.
Iwuji, who plays the stern Clemson Murn on HBO Max's The Suicide Squad spinoff, has previously commented on these rumors (without giving anything away), and has now shared some intriguing new details on his mysterious GOTG character during an interview with THR.
"Powerful. Extremely powerful," said the actor when asked if he could shed a little more light on his role. "Complex. James and I were talking about it, but he’s certainly one of, if not the most complex characters we’ve seen in the freaking Marvel universe. So he’s deeply complex and deeply powerful, and I hope intriguing. I hope I bring that to it."
The Silver Surfer could certainly be described as "extremely powerful" and "complex," but then so could the High Evolutionarily and countless other characters in the Marvel Comics Universe! Right now, our money is on the latter, as his story could tie into Rocket Raccoon's and possible even lay the groundwork for the next major MCU event. A Secret War, perhaps?
