After 2009's Friday The 13th reboot got a bashing from both critics and fans yet earned a whopping $91 million on a $19 million budget, a sequel seemed inevitable. Yet that announcement was never made and the producers proclaimed the sequel dead. Then recently this past summer, Warner Brothers returned the full rights to Paramount. Now possible news has been released thanks to a tweet by Ryan Turek, editor and Shock Till You Drop, about what Paramount envisions for the reboot's sequel.

I find this tweet scarier than Jason X. The prospect that this franchise about one of the most respected fictional serial killers will be stylistically changed just to easily attract the Paranormal Activity crowd makes me a sad Friday The 13th fan. This is coming from someone who also really likes and respects the 2009 reboot. But maybe that's just me. How do you feel about the possibility that the sequel will seek to change the franchises style and is it an improvement? Is this just another cheap cash cow being used?
