A cam version of this leaked earlier tonight, but Blumhouse (via Bloody Disgusting) has now officially released the intense new trailer for Halloween Kills online.
This teaser doesn't hold back on some fairly significant spoilers, as we see Michael Myers escape what seemed like certain death at the hands of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) during the climax of the last movie. There's also what appear to be some pretty major kills, and a suggestion that this sequel is going to borrow a certain divisive plot point from the original film series (no, not that one).

Myers was defeated by three generations of Strode women in Halloween 2018, and while he appeared to burn to death, we all know you can't keep a good masked maniac down for long. Curtis, Judy Greer, and Andi Matichak will all return to stand in his way - and it sounds like they're going to have quite a bit of backup this time!
Kyle Richards will also reprise the role of Lindsey Wallace from John Carpenter's original Halloween, while Anthony Michael Hall will play Tommy Doyle, another character Michael terrorized in the 1978 film.
Minutes after Laurie Strode (Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster. The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all. Evil dies tonight.
Halloween Kills slices its way into theaters this October.
