We got confirmation that Dune will have its out-of-competition world premiere on Friday, September 3 at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month, and it's just been announced that Halloween Kills will also screen for the first time at the event which is set to run from September 1-11 on the Lido.
In addition, star Jamie Lee Curtis (True Lies, Trading Places, Knives Out) will receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
“I am incredibly humbled to be honored in this way by the Venice International Film Festival," said the actress in a statement. "It seems impossible to me that I’ve been in this industry long enough to be receiving ‘Lifetime Achievement’ recognition, and to have it happen now, with Halloween Kills, is particularly meaningful to me. Halloween — and my partnership with Laurie Strode — launched and sustained my career, and to have these films evolve into a new franchise that is beloved by audiences around the world was, and remains, a gift."

Curtis rose to fame after playing a teenage Laurie Strode in John Carpenter's original Halloween, and went on to reprise the role a number of times, most recently in David Gordon Green's well-received 2018 revival.
This October, Strode will once again do battle with her seemingly unstoppable nemesis Michael Myers in Halloween Kills. You can check out the recently released trailer HERE.
